Weiser obviously waited until after the ku game to make the NCAA Investigation announcement hoping for a win to take the sting out of it.  If you beat ku, your fans couldn't care less about the NCAA.  Even though the AD knew about it for a long time and had a team meeting about it the night before leaving for Texas, he couldn't do it after the UT game with the ku game the following weekend.  Too much distraction.  Weiser waited thinking a win over ku would sooth the issue, and now it has to hurt your fans even more.  Heck, we don't even have to kick you when you are down if your own AD will do it for us.   :frown:

"No" as in that was pretty lame.  You can do better.

How about something with Weiser orchestrating this to cover up something bigger?  Or that the cheating was organized by the university?

If they wanted to "sooth" the issue they would have done it after we beat Texas because that is news and might have helped deflect things.  They wouldn't wait for the ku game because a win over ku does nothing it's only a big deal when we lose to them.    What happened is they were going to wait until the investigation was completed and KSU was cleared to announce anything but the TCJ got a hold of the story and forced them to come out with things.

There has been a whole lot of trash talked around here regarding ku's academic fraud, lack of institutional control, general criminal behavior, etc.

I was worried that the ku fans were just ignoring all of it.  It is extremely satisfying to finally know that they read every word and have kept all that anger bottled up inside for a very long time.

Late night emergency meeting called the night before leaving for Texas.  Weiser thought he could get the double whammy after the ku game and didn't want a distraction.

It backfired.  Not too hard to figure out.

For the record.  It isn't a huge deal.  Your only advantage was that it was for players who actually played.  We couldn't even cheat for players that would contribute.  I guess you got us on that one.

Now, if the investigation turns up anything else, like women's bball players getting more laptops than self-reported, or Johnson's academic travels being scrutinized, then you might have issues.

Ok, I lol'd too.  Surely "Hox" didn't just say this wasn't a big deal, after making the huge fuss that he has already over it.

It isn't in the grand scheme of things.  I am ficusing solely on guys like Dax that took to the Mount and tried to claim the moral high ground.  Just kind of funny to see you guys get a little back.  Same thing happened to us after railing on MU over the Clemmons fiasco.

Fans not caring about the NCAA because of a win over ku? That doesn't make any sense but I guess it's a fair attempt to hook anyone with a sub 50 IQ.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I railed on ku for many reasons, but my personal moral high ground wasn't the primary reason you dumbass.  It's the moral high ground squawkville always took on everything.

Like taking Roy's proclamations (in the 3rd person no less) about what a clean program he ran.  While anyone with a clue and the ability to read knew that Roy and ku consistantly played fast and loose with the NCAA rules.   But hey, no representatives from ku ever contacted Lester Earl while he was at LSU  (one example). . . believe that and we've got a nice bridge for sale.   NCAA Rules 101 tells you that you can NEVER say its okay for boosters to send gifts to NCAA athletes whether their playing days are over or not, and for Roy to say he didn't know and didn't even bother to check (probably because ku didn't even have a compliance officer on staff . . . oh wait he did check, no the so called compliance officer said he didnt, kind of like the one assistant football coach said Mangino knew, and Mangino said he didn't know) is a joke, and only begs the question what the hell else was going on.   I guess Roy must have cheated on that NCAA compliance test like Mangino did.

I rail on ku for taking two years to investigate the last set of issues . . . likely an NCAA record in of itself.  It all took place under the nose of 3 AD's no less.   Then in the football program ku tries to toss former GA's under the bus, promotes a coach that was heavily involved, and actually got the NCAA to believe Mark Mangino didn't know while bragging what a taskmaster and control freak Mangino is out of the other side of his mouth.  I could almost believe that if this was all taking place at someones house or in a dorm room, or on the computers in the library . . . but right there in the football offices, please.

Then too top it all off, Lew Perkins actually handed down harsher internal sanctions on the women's basketball program than he did the football (academic fraud) program and men's basketball program (cash gifts and booster money).   Only to have the NCAA pretty much clear the women's basketball program.   All that to make ku look tough on rules violations.

Lest of course we not forget . . . LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL.

It's not my moral high ground . . . it's the high horse most ku folks attempt to ride on (poorly).

1)  We get the moral high ground because we are superior to K-State.  Come on, you know that.

2)  You are pissed because you went off on us for two years and now it is biting you in the butt.  You should be angry.  I was when we did it to MU for a couple of years then it bit us.

3)  Let it out.  Let it allllll out.  It helps.

LOL . . . if word comes out that Ron Prince's coaching staff was writing papers for the players, and giving them answers to online tests, and bringing in ineligible JC recruits and setting them up in football offices to takes tests and enrolling them in online classes and assisting them in committing academic fraud.   Then yes, I'd be pretty upset and feel like eating some crow.   I'd be even more upset if it took KSU 2 years and 2 or 3 athletic directors to report all of this to the NCAA, and then another 2 years to conduct an internal investigation.   I'd be near ballistic if it was also shown that the KSU basketball coach was green lighting illegal cash payments and other gifts to KSU players and then having the same program continue into a new coaching regime.  I'd be ballistic if I found out that KSU had extended periods where no significant or viable compliance staff was in place, and thus was labeled with Lack of Institutional Control.  (I love posting that because that is such an impressive laundry list of NCAA infractions and mis-management on the part of ku that it just rolls off the keyboard like butter)

But since to date that doesn't appear to be the case at KSU, and it appears that no former or current KSU athletic staff or coaches were involved, I am not upset in the least.
