I know this is just a fishing thread, but the third string is Tyler Lawrence. Believe it or not, there are a few ku fans that wished he would have had more of a shot at competing for a starting spot this year. He is a redshirt freshman (from the same recruiting class as Reesing) and he has probably the best arm on our team.
At ku's practices, just watching our QB's throw (without knowing who the starter was) most would say he throws the best/prettiest ball. Tight spiral, very accurate, good velocity. He isn't nearly as polished as the other QB's though, and doesn't have the mobility that Mangino wants in a QB. In all seriousness, I can't see him beating out Reesing or Meier while they are at ku and at his current level would be nervous seeing him in the game. But I can see him stepping up after they graduate and being ku's starter as a senior, unless AJ Steward or a yet to be recruited QB comes into the picture.
Re: the implications of this thread, though: Reesing has never missed a game due to injury in his life. He may not be big, but he is very durable and would surprise me if ksu was able to knock him out. Not for lack of effort, I'm sure, ksu has a long track record of injuring QB's. For once, I'd like to see a ku-KSU game where both QB's played the whole game healthy.
