Were they pretty much sucking off KSU/RP?
I was in a sports bar on the east coast and the sound was on a diff game.

Very Texas biased, but also complementary of RP.

i disagree.  i thought they were pretty fair.  ive heard a lot worse.  they were extraordinarily complimentary of Prince though.  at least i never heard them call us the jayhawks or ku so thats an improvement over a lot of announcers.  plus they gave us props, and specifically freeman, when they talked about how they had also announced the auburn game.

Curious... does anyone laugh when watching highlights of our games over top teams/rivals when the announcers act like they know who our players are and act like our players are so good? Examples would be Clayton Cox and Courtney Herndon.

the cox one was only mildly funny, the herndon one caught me completely off guard b/c there was more than one reference to it.  they made him out to be a total pimp.

Wyatt sucked; Stan was informative.

Oh, the ABC guys. So so. Not complete UT sports information tools.

    The very best.
Ron Franklin's residence?

Austin Texas.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I thought they were pretty fair, especially once the game got started and KSU was looking good.  They had done the KSU-Auburn game and knew some things.  What I liked most was when one of them casually said KSU-ku would upstage the Red River Shootout next week.

They got fair at the end of the game, but for good reason.  At the beginning they said that they thought the hit on Colt last year was late, but never called, the Jordy TD reception might have been illegal, but we'll never know.  And we would clearly cross the red line and be close to a first, and they would graze the yellow line and definitively have it.

They were like this..

Swing pass to Nelson.. Touchdown.

Interception by Campbell.. Touchdown

Johnson takes the kickoff - Touchdown.

Texas Punts.. fielded by Nelson.. Touchdown.

It was raining powercats in the endzone.

This isn't about the announcers (the radio guys were normal). The AP Photo wire on ESPN, with the K-State-Texas game photos, has two captions that mention Kansas defeating Texas. I can't find the AP contact info to inform them of this error.

That was Jack Arute.  And only Jack Arute.  Nobody agreed/disagreed.

The TV announcers were great.  Whay would anybody worry about them?

Arute was on the field, I thought it was the skinny young guy in teh booth that said it.  Either way, ridiculous opinion.  Like Colt wouldn't keep trying to advance the ball

I thing I didn't get was how they were talking about all the new wrinkles Prince added to the offense over the bye week, but the offense didn't look like it was really doing anything new to me?
Anyone disagree?

We still never really tried to throw the ball down field, exept once or twice to gonzo.

That's the truth, I thought he had passed out on the Nelson return for a TD.  In his commentary he never sounded like he thought Jordy had a chance until he had a "convoy".

You could tell after he made his first cut upfield that he was gone...

Blew my mind!:

Some ABC guy:  Well, Josh Freeman should be telling his running backs and Wide Receivers to stay in bounds if they get to the sidelines! (With 4 f'ing minutes left in the third quarter with a 3 point lead!)!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111oneone

I assumed that the guy thought it was the 4th quarter for some reason.  He didn't say anything like that after that play.

There was a comment we noticed; something about how the Crowd was going to get really loud as soon as Texas got the lead back. Ironically this was maybe one play before a turnover that led to us scoring again. It did seem to get louder in the stadium at that point.

Jack Arute was a huge dumbcrap the whole game. I don't think he ever left the UT sideline. I loved how he was on saying how Colt would most likely take a rest for the next series, as the screen shows #12 running out to the huddle.

Also loved how speechless the announcers were after Jordy's runback.

Yes, I agree 100%

Didn't they call the game at Auburn too?  We ran the exact same offense but with more Jordy.

It was in reference to OU losing.  They said the stadium had not announced the OU score, so no one in the stadium knew OU had lost.  Then once Texas took the lead, the place would erupt.  Are they really that naive?  Do they realize there are cellphones and everyone in the stadium either received a text or call when OU lost.

    I'm ANGRY!
Game announcers were better than I thought they would be, but pre-game Doug Flutie said something to the sort of I predict Texas to win, I don't even need to talk about it and handed the conversation off to the other guy.   Not to mention he was wearing a purple tie.

    It's time to hit it.
Best line of the night came in the first quarter when texas was at out goal line.

"After last year, I highly doubt we see Texas run the quarterback sneak here."

agreement all around in the booth.  I was kinda hoping they would try.

And yeah, that is the first time I've ever heard the possibility that last years hit on Mccoy might have been late.

Also when they mentioned Freeman gaining weight in the offseason, they stated it was all muscle.  Pretty classy.
