So, say his salary is 75,000 Euros a year, he would be making about $95,000,000 in US dollars per year. Talk about BANK!
prolly crazy bank. he's on a high profile team, i'm sure he makes more than 75k e/year.
You forget the Euro to $ exchange rate (<
) If you would have invested in Euros when $1 was equal to 1 Euro you would have roughley $14,000 for every $1 you had invested. Crazy, I know.
Stop with the silly exchange rate. 1€ equals 1.47$, end of story. Massey is getting around 450k $ a season.
And Zlatorog haven't got nearly enough money to pay Massey.
LOL
I am just messing with you.
Another question: How did you get interested in hoops? Did you play over there? Do most of your school systems have basketball?
The sad thing is that I know that your messing with me and I still correct your posts.
In Europe you start to train with the club and you go trough different sections(pioneers < 14 years, cadets < 16 years and youths < 18 years) and then you hopefully become a pro and make the first team. In rare cases (like Ricky Rubio) very young players get a first team spot and can develop at a higher level. Our schools do have basketball teams, but the players don't get scholarships and don't train at schools(because they train at clubs).
Did you know you can vacation in the US for pennies a day
?
And then you wake up and realize that you had a nightmare, eh?

I've been thinking to take a summer job in the USA this summer, so I would like to know in which city should I search for summer jobs? Any recommendations?
do american-born players and european natives usually have equivalent salaries?
It mostly depends from player to player.
how much does harris make?
I have no idea, any number that I write is just a pure guess. In Europe most clubs hide their players salaries, but I don't know why.
do teams negotiate american-born players' salaries in dollars or euros (or other for non-eurozone leagues)?
At the moment the most European clubs pay the American players in dollars, because of the low value of dollar against euro.
Isn't there a story about some hoopster in the US thniking he just signed some monster contract (obviously before the Euro pwnt the $) and he got over there and was making, like, $8k a year? May have been baseball. May have halucinated it also.
It certainly wasn't baseball, because baseball and american football just aren't popular in Europe, as handball and football(soccer) isn't popular in America.
