We obviously have some guys with physical ability.

Let's hope their mental maturity catches up so we don't kill ourselves with 200 yards of penalty again.

It has to be frustrating to lose that way. On the positive side, going to Auburn and playing them so well should give the team confidence and make you guys feel good.

I'm leaning towards the latter of the two.   :ksu:

no i'd have rather lost by 10 and gotten badly outplayed then outplay them and lose by 10. All everyone sees is that we lost by 10. wow #78 needs to be &@#%ing shot. And I never complain about refs but Auburn got a hell of a lot of calls. We have a dumbass team! It's BS to lose like that. WTF #78 is &@#%ing terrible. I threw my phone and it shattered when that autistic ref called that roughing the kicker. It should have been running into the kicker and we would have kept the ball. Atleast I'm not a Michigan fan.

d00d, calm the &@#% down.  it was the opening game in a really hostile atmosphere.  id say we did better than almost anyone expected.  that said it still sucks that we lost especially since we DID outplay them for the majority of the game.  unfortunately we could never put the points on the board.

I know man. I guess I'm just mad that we played so dumb and the refs didn't help any. Patton and Johnson looked like crap.

This is dumb.  If you get badly outplayed, it means you don't have the horses.  We went into the heart of SEC country tonight and punched a hell of a team in the mouth.  It would have been a heckuva statement if we had won.  We needed to have a couple of more horses (on o-line, mainly), but we matched up well with them in a lot of places, which is a really good sign.

As for the refs, they were bad both ways.  They might have thrown a few more bad calls our way, but the point is that you don't put them in a position where they can make calls.  You don't hit the QB, you pull up.  You don't roll into the punter, you ease off.

Our loss tonight was because our players and our coaching staff made a number of bad mental blunders.  Let's hope this is fixable...the encouraging thing is that it's the most likely thing to be fixed.  It's tougher to make your players faster or bigger in the middle of the season.

What you need is a pet you can abuse.  Like an old dog you can throw empty cans at, a parakeet you can swat with a flyswatter, a tank full of fish you can piss in, or a chimpanzee you can dip in grape jelly and throw on an antpile.

You know, whatever it takes to vent.

I expected more than 20 yards combined between Patton and JJ...

we out played them, then we screwed ourselves with dumb penalties
i know we never really expected to win, but when the team can taste it and then spits it out like flat beer its so frustrating.
listening to prince and jordy on the post game, they don't even sound disappointed or really point out that we pretty much had the game won, they are just happy by having a good showing and not getting blown out on national tv

that is not good enough for me, we don't nail the punter, we probably win
we don't have 50 zillion offsides, we probably win
dumb inexcusable mistakes

They didn't have a chance, we hardly ever ran it, plus Auburn's run d was pretty good.

They ended up punting anyways, but yeah we would have had a hell of a lot better Field position.
