Please tell me what's good about a guy who hasn't ever played a D-1 snap, telling the Big 12 his defense is going to wreck them and acting as if no coach in this league has ever seen a 3-4 defense.
It's probably pretty safe to assume that you probably didn't play a snap of football past your senior year of high school, so i'm going to go ahead and forgive your ignorance regarding game-week preparations.
Nobody here is saying that coaches have yet to see a 3-4 defense, nor is anybody claiming that they won't know how to attack it. With that said, ALL coaches want kids to "play fast" and the easiest way to slow a kid down is to make him have to THINK and play, rather than just play.
When every other team in the conference is running some variation of a 4-3 and then the kids get ONE WEEK to adjust to a completely different scheme, alignment and strategy, it makes for some confusion on the kids' part. Keep in mind, these are 18-23 year old college KIDS... NOT professionals that are paid to spend 12-14 hours a day figuring it out. So, it's understandable that an alien scheme/alignment will be more challenging for the OL, and backs to deal with.... thus, not allowing them to play as fast.
I do, however, think it's kinda *neato* when the classiest fans in america come to lil ol' KSU's fan board and demonstrate their low FBIQs so as to get lessons regarding the game of football.
Thank me for my time.
