This reminds me of Andre Jones' comments last year before playing USC. When will kids learn to keep their mouths shut. I actually shouldn't be surprised Patterson would say something so stupid.

Probably about the same time crotchety middle-aged white men pull the broomsticks out of their asses and lighten up a little.

Please tell me what's good about a guy who hasn't ever played a D-1 snap, telling the Big 12 his defense is going to wreck them and acting as if no coach in this league has ever seen a 3-4 defense.  :blahblah:

What's bad about it?  It's meaningless.  It'll do about as much good as you whining about it.  Lighten the f*ck up.

Well, you Huskers are really into your recruiting rankings. Chris was a five star coming out of HS, five star coming out of JUCO in 2006 (didn't make it), four star in the 2007 class (qualified).

Evaluated many times, passed with flying colors each time.

Yeah lets see what Mr Arrogance says in November. I'm sure he'll get the point very quickly that the Kansas State defense isn't going to wreck anyone other than their own offense.

And according to you huskers, with good recruiting rankings, they're already proven on the D-1 gridiron. Chris Patterson has been evaluated 3+ times with never lower than a 4* ranking and yet, he's unproven??

LOL.....alright.....

I'm not crotchety or middle aged and I'm not into S&M, but I don't like it when athletes say things they can't back up.  I'm fine with any player saying anything really, as long as he backs it up.  K-State in da house.

It's probably pretty safe to assume that you probably didn't play a snap of football past your senior year of high school, so i'm going to go ahead and forgive your ignorance regarding game-week preparations.

Nobody here is saying that coaches have yet to see a 3-4 defense, nor is anybody claiming that they won't know how to attack it.  With that said, ALL coaches want kids to "play fast" and the easiest way to slow a kid down is to make him have to THINK and play, rather than just play.

When every other team in the conference is running some variation of a 4-3 and then the kids get ONE WEEK to adjust to a completely different scheme, alignment and strategy, it makes for some confusion on the kids' part.  Keep in mind, these are 18-23 year old college KIDS... NOT professionals that are paid to spend 12-14 hours a day figuring it out.   So, it's understandable that an alien scheme/alignment will be more challenging for the OL, and backs to deal with.... thus, not allowing them to play as fast.

I do, however, think it's kinda *neato* when the classiest fans in america come to lil ol' KSU's fan board and demonstrate their low FBIQs so as to get lessons regarding the game of football.

Thank me for my time.

Crotchety?  Really?  I don't get upset by them talking trash and then getting it handed to them, I just think they look incredibly stupid when they do it.  Conversely, I love it when a player runs trash and then goes out and backs it up more times than not.  Ex. I like Chad Johnson, I don't like Thomas Clayton.

Not only do other teams in the Big 12 play against the 3-4, most of them employ their own 3-4 packages. Nebraska plays Nevada in the opener and we have our own 3-4 installed. Patterson thinking Tibesar is going to fool anyone is just stupid.

Damn.  You're right.  That means there's only two things separating me from the typical NU: I'm not above 60 years old and I don't like broomsticks inserted into uncomfortable places.

    Toonces - The Original EMAW
I used to know very little about football.  I knew there was an odd shaped ball and a field w/ too many lines on it to count.  Then, when I was riding my unicycle down the road just outside of Lincoln, I noticed a large cornfield.  I stopped my bike and walked over to the field.  I grabbed the largest ear of corn that I could find and I sat on it.  Since then, I have been enlightened and seen red ever since.
