After an unprecendented number of injuries for KSU, one of the worst defenses in the nation channeling the '85 Chicago Bears, and some good old fashioned lucky bounces of the ball, ku managed to hold off KSU in a hard fought, bitter battle to the end in last year's Sunflower Showdown.  This year's mantra for KSU:

LIGHTNING WILL NOT STRIKE TWICE!!!

When fall practice begins, you know that it is time to start thinking about getting in shape for the ku game.  But not before then.

Coach Prince's laboratory team continues their diligent work on the "Power Pill" which helps enable football athletes to avoid injury during the course of a season.  It is fitting that the scheduled release date is October 5th, one day before the ku game, given that a few key injuries were all that kept KSU from winning in Lawrence last year.

Since the heartbreaking loss to ku last year, Coach Prince has spent much of his time searching for a motivational tool that might help him to avert a repeat stink job.  He feels that, more than anything else, it is critical to find something that will appeal to his players.  Coach Prince knew that his search was over when he saw #1 on the New York Times list of Hardcover Business Best Sellers.
