    Fear the Brick
Hatter-you willing to put money down on beating Texas this year?

3) KSU has as much of a chance of winning in Austin as Nebaska does.

thanks for playing.

Ummm no you don't. See you're going down to Austin to play a supremely talented team hell bent on revenge. We're not.

Texas is pretty much our bitch.  It's science.

LOL..Nubbs always lose to Tejas, period.  Yep, we're going down to play a supremely talented team fairly early in the season that replaces it's entire interior OL, two starting DE, 3/4 of their secondary.  Texas is beatable.  I don't think we will beat Texas but Nebraska sure as hell won't.

Did K-State's offensive line improve all of a sudden?  How about that defense that couldn't stop the run to save their lives in the last two games of the season?

Who fears us more Texas or USC?  We have really dominated both and both coaches have admitted to waking up screaming in the middle of the night from nightmares about us owning them.

Also TX in BBall...God we own Texas so hard.

LOL you guys are going to get beat like a drum. Your team will (and should) take the mindset of walking into Austin and grabbing your ankles. You're going to get bent over-GUARANTEED. Close your eyes kitties-it won't be pretty. I wouldn't worry too much about a dropoff from whoever they replace their starters with. They're better than the guys you'll trot out on the field across from them. Tray Allen, Eddie Jones, Brian Orakpo, and on and on and on...take your beating like a man, alright?

Tim McCarty is pretty much the top O-line coach in college football right now and Tibesar made University of North Dakota one of the stingiest defenses in all of Division II.  End of discussion.

Once again proving that KSU will always be ku's super bowl.   Beating KSU, is more important than having a winning conference (Last one was TWELVE years ago over at ku) or going to a bowl game.

Not our Rival??:

You mean he's taking time off from talking:

*about cooking
*about golf
*with his "friend" Danny
*about the cookie diet

Man, it MUST be closer to football season.

Add talking about the royals to the list.
theres nothing wrong with talking about the royals...

There is when we have to listen to 30 f-ing minutes of how Bob Davis did a great job on a call of the third out in the 7th or 8th inning.  Good Lord, who cares???!!???  That was crap radio right there.  Every other radio guy in MLB does the same freaking thing every freaking night.

Not sure why that is funny considering McCoy played one series and it was a 14 play, 80 yard, 6 min and 53 sec TD drive.  If you think we didn't prosper with McCoy getting hurt then you aren't a smart person.

Sure would have been nice to have Watts, Moran, and Baldwin in that game...only 3 starters but hey, it was all about Colt McCoy.  I mean they're Texas and should have been able to just line up and run it down our throats...they couldn't and didn't.

Our starters missing weren't guys that don't touch the ball every play they are in the game.  I know you are too smart to think McCoy was not as valuable as those three combined.  My guess is you are stirring the pot but let's not be stupid.

Our starters weren't lost during the game so their replacements went through practice and meetings preparing to be the starter.  UT's loss of the most pivotal person on their team came during the game; therefore, meaning Snead went through the week preparing as the #2.  The game plan was likely to not be the same had Snead been expected to be the starter.

Manhatter, bad example.  In the end, we won and Freeman received invaluable praise that still gets the program exposure.

Yeah -- not having an All-American type defender on the field would have no impact on the game.

Watts changes games every time he's on the field.

And Moreira -- if #10 play, we might have scored 55.

Stop already

What's hilarious is if you take out those two boneheaded punt blocks/fakes, we crush Texas. It isn't even close.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

We can use the reverse excuse and say we don't lose a game in the Big 12 if we have Bill Walker but we aren't that ignorant....well, some are.

Watts is not an all american or even close to it.  Stop with the nonsense.  Yes, he is a good player and makes plays.  He isn't an all american.  Phillips, Landry, and Nelson played at such a different level that it is not fair to even have Watts mentioned with those players.  Watts is a good player in the Big 12 but he isn't all american or close to it.

This season Taylor Mays, Kenny Phillips, Tom Zbikowski, and Jonathan Hefney are going to be your names at safety that will get all american consideration.

The youthful ignorance of our fanbase is scary sometimes.  It shows when people don't remember what all americans are despite they were roaming the field with consistency not long ago.  Watts isn't even as good as McGraw (non all american) and he sure as hell isn't close to the player that Mendez was.

Comparing Walker to McCoy is apples and oranges.  McCoy had been in the program for over a year and had produced significantly.  McCoy had assimilated into the program very well.  Walker was far from in tune with the team in terms of flow of the offense.  Walker had not been acclimated to D1 basketball for over a year the way McCoy had been to D1 football.  Lots of differences.

Correct, lots of differences.  The primary one is that you start 22 people (not counting STs) in football and only 5 in basketball.  Walker was much more important but we don't use that as an excuse to losing any games.

We would have beaten Texas with or without Mccoy.

Texas was overrated coming into our game. They needed miracles to beat Nebraska and Texas Tech, and were drilled at home to Ohio State.

Really? Sports Illustrated seemed to think so...

Remember their mid-year All-American picks?

Marcus Watts....second team. No telling how he would have finished had he played the entire season.

- Just to jog your memory

He sure would have looked better then the Texas secondary...

And you talk about people forgetting about the greats...youthful ignorance...your memory seems to be the one that's lacking.

BTW -- here's my ticket stub from Snyder's first win...

Yours?

K-State should be ku's superbowl.  We need to be the best in the state of Kansas before we can be the best in the Big 12 North.  39-20 was a step in the right direction.

A win over Nebraska, Texas A&M, Missouri, or Oklahoma State would have been better for you. I would rather beat OK State, Mizzou, Nebraska, Texas, or possibly Colorado before I would ku this year.

Shouldn't you be getting your BMW detailed?

Yay, ku beat KSU and then got to stay at home during bowl season while all those true freshmen that took their lumps were getting an extra couple weeks of practice.  KSU basically had a twice as long amount of time for spring football with all the bowl preparation.

cal,
Would you take Watts over Taylor Mays, Kenny Phillips, Tom Zbikowski, Jonathan Hefney, and Laron Landry?  Those guys were not listed.  Those guys are superior safeties but if you take SI.com's list as gospel then so be it.

Do you really value the evaluation of defensive backs when they write this:
DB: Eric Weddle
Sr., Utah
Nation's premier cover corner has six interceptions, two TDs.

Weddle isn't a corner and the premier corner had Hall, Revis, Houston, and Ross taken before him in the NFL draft.

I don't keep stubs.  At the time, I unfortunately was not able to use my season tickets and gave my secretary.  Most of my weekends were spent with clients in Canada and Colorado.

I can't believe we're arguing over how we upset another team.  We won.  We took advantage of nearly every situation in a football game and won.  That's what you take away from that game.  NU could've beat Texas but Terrance Nunn decided to cough up the football...TT could've beat Texas, but decided to do what it does and collapse.  I'm sure the game would've been different if Colt plays, just as it would if we had all of our players healthy...but they didn't and we didn't.  There's no asterisk next to the KSU vs. Marshall game in 2003 in Marshall's media guide.
