Beat rival Texas on the road, or save face and keep the streak alive and beat the lowly Jayhawks at home.  Assume that our final record will be the same independent of which choice you make.

I'd take the win in Austin.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Stupid question.  Of course I'd rather beat Texas.

I'd take the UT win. It will be on primetime. Nobody will give a crap about the ku game.

What will our final record be?  If it's the same as last year's or better, I'll take the UT win, if it's worse, I'll take the ku win.  If we're going to suck, we might as well hold onto something.  It's not like going 4-8 but beating UT will help us recruit.

It might help in state.  Just saying.  I mean, we've got a who's who of albinos on the commit list now after going to a bowl and beating UT last year.

Did beating Texas last year on National TV help w/recruiting ???

How pissed will the alumni who pay the big bucks be
if we lose to ku for the 3rd time in 4 years ????

Questions to ponder....

But right now, I'd rather have the loss be to
Texas instead of the Jayhawks....

It'd be interesting to get Texas' take on that.  They'd probably giggle.

Only team in the Big XII other than OU to have a winning record against Mack Brown (I think).

If you would rather beat ku than Texas, you are probably too emotionally involved in message boards.

Barring a matchup in the conference championship, we don't play Texas again the next two years.  A win in Austin would linger until 2010.

there's a (mis)conception that one regular season win against anyone helps recruiting in any quantifiable way.

    The very best.
I dream about winning in Austin every other day.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

That certainly doesn't make them think of KSU as a rival.  Oklahoma, A&M, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma St., Tech, Ohio St. (after the games these past two years), and maybe even Colorado would be considered greater rivals for Texas.  But hey, your perspective may be a bit different coming from the KSU side of things.

Wow. I thought that you might possess some intelligence. I guess not. We've owned Texas recently (basketball, football, and baseball). They want to beat us almost as much as they want to beat OU. We &@#%ed up their national title hopes last year. We injured their quarterback which was one of the reasons they lost to Texas A&M. Texas hates us.

Alright then.  Go to a Longhorn board and tell then that KSU is just a smidge below OU on their rivalry scale.  Above all the other teams I listed.  See what their response is.  One year does not make a rivalry.  They have a bit of history with the likes of OU, A&M, and Arkansas.  They view last year's KSU game as nothing more than a fluke.

Maybe you didn't understand it when I said that we own them. We always beat them. We are one of two Big XII schools to have a winning record against them in Big XII play. They want to beat us more than anyone else (save Oklahoma). Seriously, I thought everyone knew this. It's the same reason that USC thinks we're their rivals. We are undefeated against them in football and basketball. They hate us.

Sandman is getting played bigtime.

I'd take the UT game as a win every day of the week. ALthough zacker sort of had a point. If we are going to blow ass regardless, I might choose the ku game as the win. If next year is a bowl season, then UT all day.

Even in an 1-11 season, that "1" should be Texas.  Next in line?  Auburn, Nebraska, and probably Fresno State (mostly because it's a nationally televised road game right in the middle of the Old Spice Classic).  All of these are more important.

If your season is in the crapper, you still want to have something big to hang your hat on, to offer hope for next year.  Hell, that's probably why ku fans are so optimistic this year.  They got their "1" last time around.

Seriously, whichever games are on national tv/affect teams in the top 25 are the ones you want to win. K-State beating ku doesn't get mentioned on ESPN. K-State beating Nebraska does.

I'm with catzacker -- if we're going to blow next year and wind up 3-7 or 4-8, I'd rather have the ku win.  I'd rather not get mentioned on ESPN at all, than see it get mentioned at the end of the season: "The lowly wildcats started out conference play with a huge win over rival UT before taking a nosedive into the toilet and only winning 1 more game."

However, if we're going to be .500 or better, I'd rather have the UT win.  It might help push us to a better bowl game / better national attention.

I'd rather beat ku. If we're competing for the North, it helps more. We can beat UT in the Big XII CG.

Ha, who am I kidding.... :flush:
