Story time.

First press conference before the spring game, Prince walks into the interview room and is putting on his mike. J-Mart is sitting in the second to last row of seats. Mind you, there's about 20 other media members in the room. Prince overlooks all of them and looks over at J-Mart with a huge grin.

RP: "Hey"
JM: "Hey. What's up?"
RP: "How you doing?"
JM: "I'm good. How are you?"
RP: "I'm great, Jeff."

It was the only greeting RP gave to anyone that day.

As a first-hand witness to nearly every meeting between the two, there's so much mutual respect, it's sickening.

Yeah, the respect just oozes from that conversation.

From RP's end, it might be more admiration than respect.

He's tough to read.

    Fear the Brick
I’m kind of laughing that everyone is caught up on the word “nil”.  I mean it’s semantics, really.  If Jeff had said “I give them a 15%” chance of winning that game, people would be arguing over whether it’s really 25 or 30%.

And not to rehash it because there’s already a thread about it, but Jeff’s articles probably come off as having something against Prince because Prince doesn’t want to comment on anything, so of course the story will appear one sided, because, well, it is.  But because Prince won’t comment on something doesn’t meant the story shouldn’t be written.  If you want to say that when Jeff writes those stories he’s kind of “bullying” Prince then I’d agree, but I don’t really see anything wrong about it because it isn’t like he’s writing inaccurate accounts.

This state has fairly terrible beat writers, no matter the school.  Jansen comes up with something decent like once a year.  Richman is basically a dead person with a computer, Bisel just follows the crowd.  Hell, for ku they had NCAA violations and their beat reports, from Plumlee to King, didn’t really bother to do anything but get the company line from Perkins.  So Jeff gets some news/comments/quotes from some players and all of a sudden he’s out to get Prince?  And now that he says what nearly every sane sports writer would say in regards to Texas vs. KSU, and he has issues with Prince?

well no one can acuse you guys of not having a sense of humor - who was it that said the loss of McKoy did it to us? Every Texas fan in 50 states and Puerto Rico knew that reloading an M16 and playing rush-n-roulette was a safer bet than keeping McCoy healthy on a sneak at the goal line on our 1st drive. Not the brightest move. 2) Those same Texas fans referred to above also knew BOTH, that McCoy was being invited the the Touchdown Club in New York for the trophy presentation [as known fact, not colorful web glitter] AND that McCoy ran an exciting ball control offense that had shown it could both strike quick or slow down and plow the field all afternoon if it had to if the defense was having trouble that day.

That was a dumbass move by Brown.  Prince had taken some flack for not doing QB sneaks on 4th and goal in the past, but said after the UT game that everyone thinks it's the greatest play ever until your star QB gets injured and your no longer in the running for the NC.

I still want my cooler, bitches!

Unless Colt McCoy gets wrecked again, UT will win easily.

We talk about this that, etc..without our kicker knocking down a 51yard FG, that game goes to OT.  Even the biggest homers have to come clean and say that it is highly likely we won't have as good of a special teams unit.  Figurs and Snodgrass are sizable losses and both of those guys were HUGE in that game.

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
In Austin? After being embarrassed in defeat last year in prime-time?

I'd honestly say the chances are nil.

no offense but lol.  Their OL was gutted.  Lost a @#%$load of experienced players defensively.  You don't win by just throwing talent on the field.  And Texas is not that well coached.    I look back to the '03 game in Austin...Texas had no chance that day IF Vince isn't playing because it was hilarious watching their YOUNG OL try to block for Chance Mock or whatever his name was.

I think we're going to be awfully salty on defense...Jackson, Campbell, Walker, Patterson...vets in the secondary.

Very true.

So long as you spent as much time analyzing the two teams as you did coming up with your screen name, I'll believe you.

One thing that everyone is forgetting that could play into our favor, (not saying that it will) but who does Texas play the week after us, thats right OU, any chance that they will be looking ahead.

I don't think they'll overlook us after last year. Us winning last year definitely hurt our chances this year. If we are going to be Texas we will just have to play absolutely perfect football.

This thread is proof that I was one of the early callers of this game
