What an interesting predicament that puts Jayhawk football fans in.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Not that I care, or that anyone reads it, but the "AOL Sportsblog" sure loves to take pot shots at KSU.  It's not just Valadgamagiacvich either, there's a whole slew of KSU fans over there working for "AOL".  I guess since they're not out mailing 2 billion AOL installation disks a day they needed something new to do.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I got that impression, too, but thought that maybe they do that with all teams.  I wouldn't know.  It's clear that they've gotten a lot of their material from phog.net, though.

Having a winning conference record usually helps with bowl games as well.  We started beating OU in '93, the first year we went to a bowl game, not sure why you included them.

I'm just saying that it helped alot to be guaranteed to start 3-0 or 4-0. I'm not saying it was the wrong strategy because I think it was smart.

Snyder could have gone 2-2 every year early on and still made the same number of bowl games.

The only years we needed a winning non-con to make a bowl were 2001 and 2006.  That was well after we figured out how to beat OU, CU and NU.

I understand your point, it's just not accurate.  Snyder didn't need to go 4-0 or 3-0 in the non-con just to make a bowl game prior to '97.

It might make more sense to argue that he needed those cream puffs to prepare for the conference slate, but you'll find legitimate arguments on both sides of that one.

It's too bad that more people remember Snyder for cupcake scheduling than for THE GREATEST TURNAOURND/DECADE OF DOMINANCE/IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY.  Really.  It's very, very sad.

Welcome to dealing with the national media. Us as fans knew that the way he scheduled was in the best interest of the program but nobody else wanted to see it that way.
