Gabbert and his parents actually liked that he wasn't going to be "the man" from day one because we have depth. I never thought our solid depth would help us recruit him, but oddly enough it did. He wants time to develop, and he understands there is competition.

ORDER RESTORED = Highlight of season is an eighteen point win over a team with a freshman making his second career start. (A team which Nebraska's own fans had predicted to not win a single conference game.)

I heard that Freeman committed to K-State initially but Ron told him to commit to Nebraska and then back out at the last minute just to screw them over. Prince really wanted to stick it to NU and put them in a fix. Rumor has it that Gabbert is doing the same thing he is just trying to be even more discreet about it. Take it for what it's worth but I heard this from a good source.

Whatever dude. Freeman had verballed to Nebraska in June before his senior year, before Bald Bull was even a twinkle in K State's eye. Prince didn't even enter the picture until what, December? Freeman was baited into playing for a black coach by Prince and promised the starting job as a freshman, which wasn't going to happen at Nebraska. As far as Gabbert, by all accounts he and his family are just a little bit more stable than Josh and Ron Prince. Missouri has moved on and is recruiting other QBs now and Gabbert immediately went to recruiting other players for Nebraska. As far as I know, Freeman never did anything like that while he was committed. He was friends with Meno Holt and tried to get Meno to look at K State but Meno told him in no uncertain terms to "f&&& off." 

Freeman was being recruited by Prince when he was still OC at Virginia. Freeman liked Prince over Calli-pussy but wanted to be closer to home and committed to Nebraska. When Prince got Snyders job, Freeman pulled out of Nebraska. Therefore, your comment about Prince not being in the picture until December shows a low football iq.

Is Michigan a top tier program?  I wouldn't say they were a great team that year, but neither was Texas when we beat them this past season.

Texas finished the year with 3 losses.  They were able to edge out 6-6 Iowa in the Alamo Bowl, so they kudos for that.  Texas last year was better than Michigan in 2005, but if Michigan has to be considered a top tier program, and neither victory is something to talk smack about when other things are taken into consideration (losing to Baylor, losing big to Kansas, ect).

I don't think a win against a 3 loss team who played most of the game without their QB should be KSU's/Prince's signature win.  Sights have to be set higher than that.  Callahan is 1-0 against Prince, and 2-1 against KSU.

signature wins are great, but in ksu's case it wasn't a signature win because it didn't signafy anything other than they caught texas at a bad time and won a fluke of a game.  KSU still lost to baylor and then got arse raped by rutgers.  holy smokes that was pathetic.  Texas wasn't that great last year and came within a few lucky bounces of losing atleast 3 more games.

now, as for callahan we have had signature wins.  Wins that tell us something about where the program is headed.  Beating ksu a couple years ago.  Nebraska hadn't done that in like 3-4 years and the games those years were more like NU beatings than games.  Callahan winning over KSU showed that the ship was righting itself.  Probaly the biggest though was the bowl game vs michigan.  they had lost 3 games I think, by less than 3 points each game, all to top ranked teams I believe and had suffered some major setbacks injury wise all year.  when we got them they were all healthy but we were missing 2 starting lb's to injury for just that game.  We were picked to lose by 20.  douche bag ksu fans on this very board and the scout board were saying that mich was the best 3 loss team ever and they would beat us by 30.  all of a sudden, we beat them and all of a sudden michigan sucks.

You Huskers are delusional. It was a win over a top 5 team. It will always be remembered as a signature win. We've only had five of those since 2000 and for three of those years we were considered a top ten program. Callahan doesn't have a big win yet.

Douche bag....   Michigan had 4 losses before they played you...   They ended the season 7-5.  So yeah...   Michigan and UT were quite different.
