Why are you torturing me?

Sorry.

Ask me about Penn State in 1982 sometime. Or Miami in 1984.  :'(

I wish KSU would have won that game because I think you were the best team that year, and I think you would have beaten Tennessee. It sucks that the Aggies won because they were just spoilers. Their season meant nothing, other than they knocked you out. Texas did the same thing to us in 1996.

I get sick of listening to the Big 12 south teams talking trash about the north because they have quickly forgotten that when the Big 12 was formed the south sucked and three north teams were national contenders.

On that note, I was happy when KSU spoiled Oklahoma's season in 2003. It was payback of sorts.

I was in the first few rows of the upper deck right above that endzone.  It happened right in front of me.  There are no words to explain that feeling.....none.  We all just stood there quiet with blank looks on our face.  The only noise in that dome were the small number of aggie fans raising hell.  Everyone else was silent and motionless.

I was pissed and was told "the sun will come up tomorrow".  Ofcourse it rained the whole effing way home.  Just a awful memory that I try not to think about.

    shame on you, non-believers
I was 14. Barely spoke to anyone for about 3 days. My fam and I were at the game...longest car ride home of my life, by a wide margin.

The next week, I wrote an essay for school about "The Worst Day of My Life"...December 7(?), 1998. It was the most depressing thing I've ever written, and writing is how I always vent.

We had a roller coaster ride in the upper deck.   The game felt like it took 12 hours...highs then lowest of lows....

We all went back to our room at Holiday Inn, and sat there....stunned.    About 2 hours later we all went to Sauget IL to a strip club, and that eased a little pain, but not much.

I still can't hardly think of that game, but someday I do want to watch it again.

Shocking to hear the UCLA score and go from that high to what would follow.  Literally in some form of shock.

Eventually I made a pact that I would see to it every one of those traitor MF'in SOB POS coaches got to say hello to my little friend.

What was your reaction to Sirr Parker when his winning touchdown occurred? I'm not trying to piss you off, but I am curious. Did you punch a wall? Get drunk? Stay in your room for several days with the lights off?

When Nebraska missed the field goal in 1993 against Florida State to lose the NC, at first I was just speechless for about five minutes. Then I went to my bed and started cussing into a pillow so my mom wouldn't hear me. I then was inconsolable for about a week. It just kind of hung over everything, and I was really irritable.

In all honesty, I still get sad/angry thinking about that game.  :'(

I don't think I will ever get over that game...i thought the 2003 Big 12 Championship would be the thing that helped me get over the disappointment of 1998, but i'm pretty sure the only way i'm getting over this one is if we face aTm in the big 12 championship game with a national championship on the line. for some reason i don't see that happening anytime soon  :crybaby:

I just remember the last play now. If you don't mind, what did Bishop do? Was he trying to run up the score or something?

Why didn't Snyder have him just burn clock?

There were six or seven plays that should have been easy to make and would have won the game for KSU had they gone the other way.  I'm not going to try to remember them, but we blew so many opportunities to put it away that the Sirr Parker touchdown wasn't really all that bad in comparison.

My uncle got married that day.  During the reception the whole family, except for my uncle and his new wife were around the bar watching the game.  No one cared about the wedding celebration.  And like chum said, there were some "easy" plays that should've gone our way and didn't.  The Sirr Parker play hurt, alot, but our boys shouldn't have gotten themselves into that situation.

I was watching it on the couch downstairs at my parents house with my dad.  I will never forget that last hour of that game.  I don't remember the specific plays and everything that happened, most of those have faded from memory, but I certainly remember the highs and lows that every KSU fan went through.

After it was over, I feel to my knees and shed a few tears, while hearing my sister upstairs cheering/yelling (she was 12 and thought it was cool to like ku, and therefore root against KSU because I liked KSU).  At that point, I seriously had to hold myself back from going upstairs and killing her, right then and there.

It still burns and depresses me when I think about that game.  Right now, i'm sitting in my 6x6 grey jail cell at work and want to ball up and cry :crybaby:

Utter shock and disbelief. I was at a HS bball game watchin it on a small tv in an office that barely got reception. One of the worst memories in my lifetime.

On a side note.....how many of you have rewatched the game or highlights of it?  I, to this day, haven't watched any highlights, etc of the game. Except for the occasional highlight that shows up on a top 10 upsets of all time or somethin like that, havent watched that effing play since.
I think it might be time to watch the game again....anyone have a place where to get it from?

I have blacked out Dec. 5th 1998.  If I were to ever see S.Parker I would kick him in the balls.  I have a lot of A&M friends, they know not to even mention dec 5th around me....ever.

    I miss him ^^
I was babysitting a couple kids in the neighborhood.  They thought I was the coolest babysitter ever......and then we lost.  It was all I could do not to punt the little f***ers down the stairs.  So instead I just sent them to bed without a snack and told them to not say a single f***ing word the rest of the night.

And then I  :crybaby:

i didn't care that much.  sort of noticed it in passing.  thought to myself "huh, looks like we aren't that good at football either".  can't remember exactly, but i probably checked for some bball recruiting info afterwards.

If you are like me, you probably listened to the triple OT loss at Oregon State after the game.  Only bad part of the night.

I was there with my FSU gear on behind a Nebraska "sports" team like swiming.  Charlie Ward FTW.

I and the rest of my friends watching didn't say anything for a while...then I walked over to my computer and closed the two internet windows I had opened since the Miami/UCLA had finished (one had the Fiesta Bowl ticket site, the other hotel rooms, both with all my credit card information filled out and ready to send after the game was over).  After that my friends and I went out and got completely hammered.

I was a freshman at KSU.  We were seated about 15 rows up from the field in the endzone.  As soon as Parker got the ball "outside" I could see his f&*$ing eyes get bigger and bigger as he ran towards the endzone.  I was heading towards the exits before the bastard even scored.  The worst 3 hour car ride home to my parents house ever!  Everytime I hear any reference to that game my blood begins to boil!  The other thing that pisses me off, is before I went off to school at KSU, I told my Dad that KSU will "play" for a NC before I graduated and it SHOULD have been my first year.  Durrrrrrrr  :banghead:   :'(

wasn't that in 03 or 04?  or did we lose to them in 98 too?  either way, i agree, heartbreaker.

KSU gets a first down they run out the clock and win the game.  Bishop runs a keeper gets the first and then keeps trying to fight for yardage instead of just going down and walking to the national championship.  Fumble and the rest is history.

I thought no doubt we had the game won, but once it went into OT i knew it was over so I quit watching.

If only I had a time machine I would make it my mission to change that outcome.  No matter what it took  :'(
