What was your reaction to Sirr Parker when his winning touchdown occurred? I'm not trying to piss you off, but I am curious. Did you punch a wall? Get drunk? Stay in your room for several days with the lights off?

When Nebraska missed the field goal in 1993 against Florida State to lose the NC, at first I was just speechless for about five minutes. Then I went to my bed and started cussing into a pillow so my mom wouldn't hear me. I then was inconsolable for about a week. It just kind of hung over everything, and I was really irritable.

In all honesty, I still get sad/angry thinking about that game.  :'(

FWIW, I think you guys had the best team in the country that year and I was shocked when that happened.

I said my first cussword in front of my parents at the age of 13.  They didn't even punish me.  They were too mad.

i was 8 years old, and i cried myself to sleep....one of the worse days of my life. but the 2003 big 12 game in which i attended almost made up for it, except for the fact it didn't take us to the NC. i've almost completely recovered from that game in the past decade, but thanks to u S. Parker, i had to look up some youtube videos and watch how we completely blew that game.

I was at the (then) TWA Dome.  After what went down in the 4th quarter it was just surreal.  In a bad way.  Unbelievable swing in emotions from the Miami - UCLA score flashed on the scoreboard right after a long TD reception to what happened at the end.

I got really drunk that night.  First with shots and expensive beers at RockABelly, Then I had some CarBombs, don't remember how many, but more than 2 I am sure of.  I probably went to Mae's b/c that is a place you can avoid thinking about football, then I passed out in City Park on the way home.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I sat there in the upper deck of the TWA dome just stunned.  I think I was close to FAN, actually.  My dad told some aTm fan "good game" afterwards and I about lost it.  That was a long freakin' car ride back across Missouri.  It would have been much more fun if we'd have known we were going to the national championship game in a few weeks.

I had been filmed by some KC area station earlier in the day saying "Welcome to St. Louis!" for their evening newscast outside the dome.

What a freakin' crappy day.  Good thing I got used to getting kicked in the nads early as a KSU fan.

That was a game in which we paid the price for Bishop being a hot dog.  We stopped A&M, they punt and all we had to do was run out the clock.  What does Bishop do ?  Throws a long pass down the sideline that was incomplete.  Of course he then runs it a couple of plays later for a first down and a fumble.

:curse: :curse: :curse: :curse:
That allow Sirr Parker to burn us twice.  Once in reg and once in OT.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

I was 9/10.  Didn't cry.  Complete shock though.  Everything was a blur the rest of the night.  Felt like a horrible dream.

is it true that bishop would have had an open td if not for tripping on hickson's foot?

I walked across town drinking a 6 pack of 16oz Budweiser cans, across City Park to my friends house who was having a watch party.  We all kinda sat there then went down to Aggieville and drank a lot more.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

What about the last play of regulation, Bishop Hail Mary Play to Gavin Peries I think.  I think he caught it too at the one, anyone else remember?

I was a SR at K-State watching the game a Scoreboards. (old sports bar in aggieville...don't know what it is now)  That place was electric when the Miami/UCLA game ended.  Then it went to uneasy as things started to unravel.  Tense in OT.  Dead as a morge when Sirr Parker did what he did.  I've been to funerals that were happier.  I think I was in enough shock that I stayed out for another half hour or so, but once the reality kicked in, so did the depression.  The second kick in the balz came when we watched the BCS selection show to see where we were going.   :banghead:

Ironically, the Alamo was the best bowl trip I've been on, even though the other three (Holiday '99, Cotton '00 and Fiesta '97) were more prestigious and we actually won those.

San Antonio, The River Walk   and the Alamo Bowl was a lot of fun, but walking out of the Alamo Dome after Drew Breeze threw that late TD wasn't so much fun  :crybaby:

Yeah, but after the devistation of the Big 12 game and not getting invited to a BCS...the loss to Purdue didn't hurt too much.  I was numb by then I guess.  The Riverwalk is a blast.

I was standing on the other corner of that endzone opposite the Aggie crowd when that happened.  Once it did I quietly turned around, quickly walked up the stairs, out of the dome and down the street to the parking garage, got on the highway, drove to the hotel, ripped my purple shirt off and walked into the Applebees and ate a silent dinner.  The next day the drive home from St. Louis to Manhattan was done in complete silence.  I didn't talk about that game for two weeks afterwards.  I still don't like talking about it.  I will never forgive Michael Bishop for fumbling that ball and giving the Aggies all the chances in the world in  that 4th quarter.

I just remember the last play now. If you don't mind, what did Bishop do? Was he trying to run up the score or something?

Why didn't Snyder have him just burn clock?
