Let's play PTI Oddsmakers.  What are the odds that Josh Freeman replaces Michael Bishop on the All-KSU team?  And- what does JTF have to do to a) be mentioned in the same breath with Bishop and b) be considered a better QB?  Isn't it possible that Freeman could be the better QB but be 9-3 as a senior instead of 11-0?  Do we consider Bishop the best KSU QB of all time simply because he came the closest to perfection?

I don't know.  How old are we in this hypothetical situation?

That might be a tiny bit of it, but I think it's mostly because he finished second in the Heisman to one of the greatest college running backs ever.

Or at least that justifies why he should be considered the greatest KSU QB of all time.

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
He has to win the Big 12 Championship before he is done to be mentioned in the same breath as Bishop.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

It's good to be good again!
Bishop brought much more to the table with his legs than Freeman will ever think about doing in his wildest dreams.

I compared statistics for the two just to see where Josh was with his armd.  The most glaring difference was in the TD/INT ratio.  Bishop for his career was 36/12.  Freeman is currently 6/12.  Josh has a LONG way to go before we can start talking about his with the upper tier of KSU QB's.  I'm optimistic since we are comparing freshmen number to career numbers and the supporting cast were also vastly different from a talent level.

    DOD Take Two
Bishop is the closet player in KSU history to winning the Heismann and was a fumble short of sending us to a National Championship. And Bishop only lost 1 regular season game as KSU QB and was undefeated at Blinn College.

Freeman did not have the same freshman year as Bishop did. Although, give Freeman credit for coming into a Big 12 program as a true freshman. He certainly had streaks of freakess passing numbers later in the season. Freeman needs a line, which Bishop had. The fact that Freeman choked at ku after the big Texas win is concerning, but we will see in Auburn if this gets corrected. I believe it should.

Freeman has the opportunity to win the Heismann, the O'Brien and a Big 12 Championship in his career. The 2008 season may be there shot at a NC. If Freeman pulls that off, he has bragging rights. However, Bishop will forever be apart of the KSU elite QBs.

At this point in time, I would take Beasely as Bishops backup than Freeman. Sorry to pile on the hate, but Freeman doesnt seem to have "it" at this point in his career. Bishop was a winner, and refused to lose. He also had the athletic ability to back it up. Freeman, unless he has a dramatic turnaround, will be behind Bishop, Roberson, Beasely, and May in all time ksu qbs.

Granted, he's a sophomore, but he's got a looooong ways to go to be compared to Bishop.

At this point Freeman rates behind all the Snyder QB's who started at least 8 games:
Straw 1989-90
Watson 1991
May1993-94
Miller 1995
Kavanaugh 1996
Bishop 1997-98
Beasley 1999-2000
Ell 2001-03
Webb 2004-05

Does anyone have any stats for Bishop's Spring scrimage?  Seriously... It was a spring game.

Yeah only a spring game. The fact that he threw no TDs and 2 INTs and still is acting like he's in the ku and Rutgers game isn't concerning at all.
