http://www.kansas.com/248/story/55565.htmlYamon Figurs and Quintin Echols are expected to be drafted. Zach Diles and fellow linebacker Brandon Archer are considered free-agent types, as is running back Thomas Clayton, whose image is suffering from the dreadful distinction of possessing "character issues."
Thoughts on Figurs from Charles Davis (analyst for TBS and the NFL Network): "He's already ahead of (Chicago Bear Devin) Hester because he can play another position," he said. "The thing about Figurs is, he's a wide receiver, maybe a third or fourth, he returns kicks and he's a gunner -- he can cover on special teams.
"And, he runs a 4.3, which is like being 7 feet tall (in the NBA)."
Teams are beginning to fall for Echols as well, mostly because there isn't much quality depth along the defensive line in this draft. When motivated and not fatigued, Echols is disruptive. When he tires, though, those 328 pounds packed on his 6-foot frame are all anyone can see.
Archer, K-State's defensive MVP last season, will probably have to try to latch on with a team as a free agent.
Same for Clayton, who looks, talks and acts like an NFL running back. If only his production was comparable.
