i hate huggins right now along with everyone else.

but lets say i, or any of you, was a head coach at a school like say the washington huskies.  youd only been there a short time , like a year or two, and all of a sudden the head coaching job at kansas state university opened up.  your saying you would jump at the opportunity?

    The very best.
Jason Bennett, Ryan Patzwald, Chris Merriweather, Bill Walker, "FILL UP THE &@#%ING ARENA! I AM BOB HUGGINS!", nothing but an NIT appy.

&@#% him.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I tend to mean what I say, so if I said I was going to build up Washington's team and bring some pride and tradition there, I sure wouldn't pull down my pants and take a s$%t on them.

I'd stay in Seattle because the chances for debauchery there are far greater than in Manhattan, KS.

you could have meant every word of it b/c you believed a school with a pretty solid coach like they had at wvu, wouldnt just up and leave.  but yet it happened.  lets put it this way.  i dont care about the situation.  if i was a ncaa basketball coach at any school that wasnt kstate, no matter how good they were, if the kstate job opened up i would always be interested.

Depends on the situation.  Bob Huggins made a horrible choice, and should die for it.

This is different.  Do you think any of us would care if Wooly left after two years for wherever he came from?

Huggins left us totally &@#%ed.

so what if i had a totally badass rep like huggins?  its not any different.  lets say i wasnt a wooly but rather i was a "roy williams" at ku.  i didnt graduate from there and i didnt grow up thinking they were badass.  rather they had always been good and i didnt have a chance there prior to me bceoming a badass.

The situation you brought up is totally flawed.  Your only goal is getting us to say "I would have left", which is obvious with your scenario.  Nice try.

Really?  I live in Seattle, and it's the most straight-laced, job-oriented, boring place I've ever been.  Debauchery here is not looking at your shoelaces when you walk down the street.

lets say i didnt graduate from there but somehow i had managed a #1 recruiting class to the the washington huskies which wouldnt have been possible prior to me.  and yet i graduated from, west virginia and they were offering me the head coaching job plus benefits.  i also felt like instead of having the #1 recruiting class i could have the #15 recruting class instead without any problems.

not really.  my point as a kstate grad is that it is my dream job to be the head basketball coach at kstate.  i really wouldnt care about the situation b/c i would take the job regardless.  that was my point.

Lets say you've already recruited 5 guys and two coaches, and they all bought into the system.

Lets say KSU brought you back into the coaching world, and was willing to do anything to keep you happy.

Let's say your wife and daughter wants to stay.

Lets say they named the town after your last name.

Lets say season tickets were sold out, and everybody loves you.

Or lets not say any of those things.

how many of those things do you know?

do you know his wife and daughter were happy in manhattan?

you dont think you can recruit similar people in west virginia?

why cant you sell out in west virginia which, btw, is your alma mater?

they didnt actually name the town after your last name but it was a pretty damn impressive gimmick.

so do you really believe that huggins would have never coached again without kstate?

I've learned that if you're happy where you are, going home isn't worth it...at all.

IMO, "home" is not worth the risk of losing a surefire great situation.  That's me, though.

According to pretty much every source and Garth, yes.  They wanted to stay.

What I meant was, you sell all those people on Manhattan, and bail out on them.  Look at Walker.  God, Huggins &@#%ed him over.

We averaged 6500.  This guy was a total stranger, yet we bought into him, supported him, and loved him with every inch of our soul.

Agreed.  He was happy in Manhattan, would have a successful season next year, and the whole West Virginia thing wouldn't matter at the end of the season.  He would not have &@#%ed anybody over by staying in Manhattan.

No matter how successful he is in WVU, he will always be guilty about what he did.

Actually maybe not.  He has no soul.

6500 is nothing.  thats half what, say, wsu averages in attendance.  yes walker got &@#%ed but thats about it.  i suppose bennett did too but he sucks to it was only a matter of time.
