LOL . . . so basically you just confirmed how idiotic your implication that 40th ranked Top 100 JC guy isn't anywhere close to a 20thish ranked Top 100 JC guy . . . the same goes with star ratings.
In terms of the score last year, why is it so hard for you contemplate just how poorly coached K-State was last year, particularly on defense, and in terms of in game time management? The guys are saying this coaching staff is teaching them stuff that last years defensive staff never even brought up (Probably didn't even understand). Scores like 64-0 over ku were absolute physical domination, ku didn't even mount drives of any significance. . . in fact ku went 3 or 4 games without even scoring a TD in Manhattan. The score last year was more indicative of piss poor defensive coaching and bad game management than it was talent. Hell, a friend and I were talking today, and as we went through some things, if K-State even has an 80th ranked defense last year, they not only go bowling, they challenge for the Big 12 North . . . I personally believe this current staff will raise K-State's defensive rankings 30-40 spots(which ain't really anything to brag about) simply because they know what the hell they're doing.
Hell the worst program in FCS went down in ku's red zone (on the 10 yard line) on their 2nd possession of the game, and on their 1st possession of the 2nd half (doubt Mangino was substituting that liberally on the first defensive series of the 2nd half). They were also knocking on the door of the Red Zone on their 2nd possession in the 2nd half until they got a personal foul penalty. 246 yards and 17 first downs for the worst team in the FCS against ku last week.
I sense the Bentard is near a complete meltdown . . . this should get exciting.
1. 'Pad, when you're talking about who has the better recruiting class, recruiting rankings become relevant. All I pointed out was that ku's 4-star guys were more highly ranked than K-State's. Nothing more, nothing less.
2. You blow the coaching thing way out of proportion. Coaching didn't cause Josh Freeman to fumble at the goaline. Coaching wasn't the reason why Jake Sharp ran for 180 yards and 3 TD's by halftime. Your team just flat-out sucked. I don't know why you can't just admit that.
3. K-State has glaring weaknesses all over the field. Look at your linebackers... those guys might start at Northern Colorado. Carson Coffman wouldn't start at Butler Community College. It's just like when K-State had Ell Roberson, and ku had some scrub that barely got offered by D-2 programs.
4. Speaking of Northern Colorado, their QB was a transfer from Florida. They have improved since last season. The funny thing is that ku's gameplan against Northern Colorado was pretty much the same as it was against K-State. Reesing only threw 23 passes against K-State last year. ku didn't need to throw... the game was over at the line of scrimmage.
5. K-State ran for a total of 91 yards against ku's defense, and a lot of those yards came during the 4th quarter, when ku had their 2nd string defense on the field.
Look, you can deny the gap in talent until you're blue in the face. I'm not saying it's a 64-0 gap, but I wouldn't be surprised if ku was in the 56-14 range.
