It's finally safe for him and his family to return now that Ron is gone.  ;)

I talked with Jim Leavitt today at the East-West Shrine practice   Reply
I'm Scott Reynolds, long-time GPC member and friend of Fitz and D.Scott. I cover the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for PewterReport.com and worked in the SID office and school paper in the early 1990s when Leavitt was at K-State. We both moved to Tampa in 1995 when he got the USF Bulls gig and I graduated and started covering the Bucs. We have remained cordial over the years.

Anyway, I spoke to him today as a KSU alum and not a reporter. I simply said that his name was blowing up the GoPowercat.com message boards and how so many K-Staters would love to see him return to Manhattan to help the defense. With a big grin on his face he said, "Is that right? I love K-State. That's like home to me."

I took that as a real positive.

However, at the same time, he said, "It's been so long since I've been back there. Everyone except Coach Snyder is gone."

I said, "Sean Snyder, Michael Smith and Mo Lattimore are still there" and he said, "Mo Lattimore! Oh, yeah. I remember him."

The way he responded though - unless he had his poker face on - led me to believe that he truly didn't know what the coaching situation was at K-State. And if that's the case, then I don't see how he could have had dialogue with Coach Snyder about joining the staff.

Then I asked him if he was going to K-State and he said, "I don't know what I'm going to do. I really don't. I'm just seeing what's out there (in the coaching world)."

We shook hands and I told him that I wished he would wind up at K-State and he thanked me and moved on to talk to some other NFL folks on the sidelines of the East-West Shrine Game.

Wish I had something more definitive - and those quotes were taken from my memory and not verbatim off a tape recorder.

LOL, so the only changes to the staff are that Mo retires and Sean comes on staff?....also possibly Burns leaves and is replaced by Joe Gordon?.....does that cover it?  I mean, it's becoming incredibly easy for Currie to Fire LHC Bill Snyder at this point.  Even the powertards have to be calling for the old man's head, right?

If we call our recruits every 3rd Sunday at 3:09 pm, this will generate continuity and the youngsters will appreciate that. Don't send any texts. Those aren't personal enough.

Firing pieces of crap coaches.  I'm just uncomfortable with the process. I thought I might grow to accept it, but that hasn't happened.

I wonder if Whitney would have interest in coaching the offensive line after she completes her 12th year of college which we haven't paid a dime for

We face the double-edged sword of going to community colleges to fill immediate needs, but then that's not rectifying the problem that we inherited of having a top-heavy roster with older players.

I legitimately believe I put K-State's best interests first.  In actuality, this couldn't be further from the truth.  I'm rough ridin' delusional.
