I'm totally down with giving him a fat contract.  eff the co-DC crap, fire Cosh and pay JL the extra.  JL is definitely using the 2 possible positions as leverage, we need to pay him his money.  With even an average defense, we would have been pretty solid this year- even with CCQ at the QB spot.

My strong belief:  JL refused a DC position without full control of the defense, which probably included axing some worthless pieces of crap like cosh.  Bill refused to give up that control over the staff and  while JL initially was using SF49rs as leverage until OBZ called his bluff.  JL will now be moving to the west coast.   This makes the most sense to me & would explain JC's non-answers to all questions about staff.   I expect any day now, some ron prince type hire to fill the vacant spot.
