The weather gurus are ramping up predictions for a big winter storm this weekend. Saying 10 - 11 inches in parts of central KS.

just like last year. Barely a snow before early January and then a huge storm comes. At least this year I won't be moving

It's always interesting how hard it is to predict snow. They seem to be really hedging in 3 scenarios this time. Ice then a few inches of snow. 3-5 inches of snow. Snowmageddon if it all falls perfect. Appears we are getting something this time though, so I guess we will see.

I bought a generator because the NWA natives have told me the power goes out often in any type of storm around here.  I don't know if bigger is better when it comes to generators but mine is gigantic.

No snow yet but everything is covered in the slickest glaze I have ever seen.

Update from Shawnne, KS.  Snow blower started and gassed up yesterday.  Tater needs the underside dried off after being out.

Had to drive back from Branson yesterday. We were supposed to stay till Sunday but figured if we did that we'd be there until at least Tuesday. Left at 2pm and with hopes to get home around 6pm. Didn't get home till 8pm and the last 45min we're brutal and included a semi hanging off a bridge.

Wind is a whipping and we've got some knarly snow drifts here in north joco. At least the snow is pretty light and easy to shovel (before it blows right back to where you shoveled it from).

I took the dog out and had to go through/over a 6 inch drift of snow. 30min later you couldn't see where I had walked.

The snowfall here in SCK is probably a bit of a respite, actually making it easier to drive if need be. Yesterday was like a constant fine spraying of the slickest, thickest coating of pure ice I’ve ever seen on roads and sidewalks. Like a natural Zamboni almost

At least now the AWD can creep around on the snow.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Had a legit snowblower for the last 6 years. Sold it last year because it never snows enough in Manhattan to use it and it was just taking up space in one of our sheds. Snowed like 8" the next week and now this lmao

My brother has a snowblower that has been at my parents place since he was in HS and used to snow blow the neighbors for money. My parents couldn't get it started so I went over there Saturday morning before the storm to look at it.

Turns out there was no gas in it, fired right up after I added a little petrol.

There is like one day every 3-5 years when it would be awesome to own one. My neighbor (may he rest in peace) used to go up and down the street cleaning of sidewalks out of the goodness of his heart. Would be fun to be able to go around the neighborhood instantly making snow disappear.

The ice yesterday was fairly bad, but until like this afternoon it took a while for the snow to really accumulate. Going to guess 8-9 inches.

Farm pro tip after checking the gas just pour the ether to it.  She'll start, guaranteed.
