I don't care what anyone thinks on here..... Irving is not point gaurd material and he and Russel look so uncomfortable with the ball in their hands it is not funny. Pullen can not have the ball in his hands all the time.

Sprads might be a below ave defender, but he has true point guard instincts. Irving and Russel don't want the ball at the top of the key. It is easy to see, as soon as they get the ball in that position, they immediately want to get rid of the ball.

6 assts and 21 turnovers today.

Now our bigs were an absolute joke today. They are a big reason why we lost, but looking down the road, if Sprads is not getting minutes, our half court offense is gonna continue to struggle. We made FTs today and still only put up 62 pts.

We need a point guard because we don't have one. Spradling playing more will not help.

I think Spradling slipped and lost the ball. Don't recall his pocket being picked.

Not saying we lost because Sprads barely saw the court the first 35 minutes, but its painful to watch us pass the ball in the half court when Jake is the only one that wants to have the ball in his hands.

Sprads is not the answer. He is a role guy. You gotta have role guys if you want to be a good team. He needs to be on the court about half of the game (18-21 min).

When he touches the ball he does not desperately want to get rid of the ball ..... and yes most of the time that is exactly what Irving and Russel do. I don't expect those two guys to be the floor general on the floor because that is not there strong suit at all. But at the same time, we can't put sooo much pressure to Jake to be the floor general and be our scorer and still be able to be a great defender on the defensive end

Sprads isn't gonna dassel anyone as a floor general this year. But he at least tries to embrace his role and doesn't turn the ball over as much when he is dribbling or penetrating.

Anyone notice that Irving had 9 TOs in the 3 games Jake missed (ave under a TO a game in other games) 9 TO in 49 minutes. Think that can be attributed to him having to play PG and play floor general more with JP out? Irving had 4 TOs today with Sprads on the bench most of the first 35 minutes

Sprads ave a TO every 14.5 min (compared to Russel 1 every 10 min) and we know which guard has the ball in his hands more.

If by sprads being on the court you mean that we are killing motherfuckers enough that we can allow for a slip in talent on the floor due to the lead, then yes I agree.

So why post then?

Whether or not Sprads plays will not impact the ugliness of our half court offense. I suppose the only argument for playing more is for experience because someone needs to develop some point guard skills. Sprads is playing more than I expected and has been a pleasant surprise. This will only help him in the next few years, but for this year we're playing without a point man and without anyone to run our transition offense. We were spoiled with Denis.

Meh. Why do I keep thinking that Spradling isn't a true Big XII PG? Too slow. Would be a good Missouri Valley PG though.

this... plenty of times there were driving lanes for him after getting seperation from his defender, and he always allowed his defender to recover and get back in front of him because he is so rough ridin' slow..

The fact is Posse is right. Jake isnt a point and he's killing us. There have been many fantastic college point guards that were slower than Sprads and couldn't hit a jumpshot if their life depended on it. A point is so much more than a stat line...the biggest issue with Sprads at point is can he lead as a freshman. Until he does, we won't get better.

jake isnt killing us. the pussies in the paint are. spradling cant lead b/c he sucks. it should embarrass us as fans that he has started even a single game for kstate this year, even with pullen's suspension. he is AWFUL.

Sprads has the right mind and his game was ok at the beginning of the year (non com-duke). Things have sped up too fast for him right now. Its a bit of a freshman wall combined with physical abilities. He is playing too fast for his skill set and rushing. I don't see why he couldn't be like okie's pig face. Once he slows his own game down a bit he will be better, but that isn't saying much right now.

For those that think Sprads sucks..... thats fine. Thats your opinion. There are times this year where i think he has sucked in certain games.

I am gonna stand by my belief that we need him to get his minutes for us to be a better team.

I think Irving and to an extent Russel have to get their minutes too for us to be the best team we can be.

For me perfect in big games =
Pullen - 35 min
