two squawkers at work were saying this years team is better than last years, I'm typically very skeptical of anything these jaggoffs have to say, they have spin for everything. They told me Selby > Sherron and losing Cole didn't hurt anything.

Thoughts on this talking point.

I just want to reiterate how much I hate when people refer to KU as UK. Is it in jest or legitimate???

Kentucky is UK and Kansas is KU to me.

I find it an insult to the University of Kentucky to refer to Kansas as UK.

Every bit of KU memorabilia I have ever seen in my life...or Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU.....or anything else aside from the full name of "University of Kansas" is KU. This is the only site I have seen that likes to refer to them as UK.....

If their fans want to call themselves KU....I don't understand why KSU fans would insist on calling them a more accurate representation of their university.

This was my reply to them, I think a decent team with some size would give them alot of problems, They seem like a crappy #3 but there really is not a whole lot else out there this year.

I think this team is a better team than last year's. Loved Cole's ability to dominate defensively in the paint and his loss is apparent but Taylor + Selby > Sherron (FOAT) + Reid/Morningdrunk/Taylor. Robinson/Jr Morristards >/= Soph Morristards + Cole. Reid's shot seems to have improved as well. This year's team seems to have less experience together with the new minutes that Selby and Robinson are picking up, and the additional minutes that Reid and Taylor are getting. I think this team has more potential. Just my imo but they're good, not Duke good, but very good.

edit- selby as a freshman plays smarter and helps his team more than FOAT as a Sr

I thought, prior to season, that we would at the very least split the series with KU and win 2 if we played them three times. Cole was the the biggest reason for us losing to them 3 times last year. We just had no answer offensively to his defense. Of course, my preseason prediction was based on me believing the KSU hype about the post players. In hindsight, it was incredibly stupid on my part, we'll be lucky to beat KU once this year. That said, losing Cole still hurts KU more than they think, and I don't think they'll be as good as last year, but they're still damn good.

My fave is KjSU from the old CU Rivals board. Fats will remember. Those guys were crazy mean back in Barnett's heyday.

What's being lost is how much better they are without TC Sherron Collins. That guy is a complete POS. The way they fallated him at the end of last year was hilarious.
