KSU's PPG this season.

Just pull the trigger Bill.  Fire Cosh and get a capable DC.  Two of your old buddies are out there looking for jobs right now.

Would actually prefer Sean to Cosh at DC.  I know what Cosh can do.  Besides, Sean needs a little more on his resume so it won't look as stupid when he's named next HC.

Carfman played out of his mind given the conditions (field/no defense/etc).

This.  We took the worst rushing yards per carry given up by a K-State defense (5.92), had a month to prep for a pedestrian Big East rushing offense (3.86), and allowed them to surpass it (6.0).

Of all the things to be said about this game, this is the biggest.  JMHO.

Final season statistics: notable numbers.

31.5 points per game given up is the 6th worst in the last 40 years.
2007 allowed 30.8 and 2004 allowed 30.6.

5.93 yards per rush given up is the worst in the last 40 years.
The 2008 defense allowed 5.2 yards per carry.

6.39 yards per play given up is the 2nd worst in the last 40 years.
The 2008 defense allowed 6.21 yards per play, 2004 allowed 5.64, and 2007 allowed 5.48.

*Keep in mind, the only reason the last 40 years is the measure is because K-State didn't track total carries, passes, or plays before 1970.

Pfffft, 1 out of 3.  Give Cosh another year and he'll get it together and own all those records

Could we get some offensive production stats please?

Notable numbers for offense.

4.68 rushing yards per carry is the 5th best in the last 62 years. (recorded stats for offense only go back to 1949)

40 rushing TDs is the 5th best in the last 62 years.

64.5 completion %-age is the best in the last 62 years.

8.0 yards per attempt is the 9th best in the last 62 years.

16 passing TDs is the 9th best in the last 62 years.

5.82 yards per play is the 5th best in the last 62 years.

.52 points per play is the 6th best in the last 62 years.

33.6 points per game is the 10th best in the last 62 years.

It would appear to me perhaps the worst defensive coaching job of the Snyder era, was supported by perhaps the best offensive coaching job of the Snyder era.  I mean Coffman had one of the Top 5 QB ratings of the all-time at K-State for a season, and that was after losing 2 of the top 3 WRs.
