This is :beatdeadhorse: for me, but I just can't figure this out.  I have never seen a team fade away from shots under the basket more than this one.  It is odd.  Really odd.

Never seen bigs make difficult shots out of easy ones as consistently as this one. Judge constantly insists on making a move or two when he could rise and shoot, or in one case in the second half simple pivot and dunk. Hoskins could teach all these guys lessons in post efficiency.

picture this, a scrimmage with no reffing to speak of, and near sodomization on every shot attempt within 20ft.

You might try a double pump or fade away to get a shot off too.  Thats just the way we practice, thus the way we play.

I love Jamar, but he literally only had to lift his arms and hop and he had a wide open dunk.  Instead he crouches and hopes to draw a foul (which he won't make.)

In all seriousness the "DUNK IT" talking point is one of the dumbest ever.  I assure you 99.9728% of the people bitching about it have never ever dunked a basketball on a 10 foot rim.  You want someone to take a ball up hard, contrary to popular belief you can go up hard and not attempt a dunk.  Jamar  has never had an issue taking the ball up hard, it looks like when he is back-to-the-basket he actually looks for contact, he shoots a lot of free throws, there's a reason for that.

This talking point will never stop, I'm sure Doom will bring it up 83 more times this season, but the topic is really dumb.

Jam is sorta like a jump shooter with his 10 foot and in game.  He has games where he is just off and doesn't get the ball to the rim, and tonight was one of them.

But I do give Jamar credit for hitting his first three of the season.  Hopefully there will be more to come there.

yeah.  people don't have much of a sense of how hard everything is when 200 lb+ people are randomly ramming into every couple of seconds.  dunking very much included.

it doesn't really come through visually.

So you are saying that when a guy is a foot from the basket with no one in position to stop him he should put the ball on the floor and crouch and wait for everyone to show up?

i don't recall the play you're mad about.  i don't recall seeing samuels not dunk something that i thought he should have, but i also don't really care about stuff like that, so i don't look for it much.

so, i can't really agree or disagree with you.  maybe he mumped up, maybe not.

there was a play, that i do sort of half-recall, where i thought he got himself too far under the basket, and ended up missing a layup that would have been pretty easy if he'd set up a few feet farther out.  maybe the same play?  dunno.

I get this, but why do other teams have big men that seem to be able to handle it?  The white dude from Florida dunked on them like 5 times?  It isn't the "dunking" per se, it is what Doom is talking about.  The lack of confidence/aggression to take it straight to the basket instead of pump faking six times from 3 ft and try to get fouled.

This thread is dumb because Wally was by far the biggest "not going up hard" offender for most of the game.  He turtled himself in to double teams too.

i think kstate's bigs dunk every once in a while.  lately, no transition oppys & the packed in offense have led to few oppys.  most teams spread the court more and/or play 4 out.

not really the same issue, but i think people think that kstate is more athletic than they actually are.  the umkc guy last night, #15, for example was a more explosive athlete than anyone kstate has.
