Katz: more on the leadership void...

Martin opens up a bit to Katz, clearly is losing patience with his SRs.

Quote
"I was pissed we lost and I'm still pissed but it was the first time I saw a glimmer of light and that got me excited," Martin said. "We were dealing with adversity instead of crumbling. We forged ahead and got strong

That is some optimistic talk. He doesn't really come across as that worried. Frank, I mean.

frank must be a scientist.  i would have never been able to figure this stuff out without his help.  i'm very interested in part two of katz's interview where frank talks about what he's going to do about it.  oh, nevermind, i found part two-   :curse:

 :flush:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

"Leadership has not been good," Martin said. "Those young kids on this team, they've sat back and they're trying to figure out what exactly am I supposed to do and haven't had anyone show them the way."

Call me crazy but is that not what a coach is supposed to do?    :dunno:

Frank is exactly right. We've had very very little leadership from either Kelly or Pullen this year. Pullen (for the most part) has looked like an arrogant idiot out there thinking that the game/team is his just because he's an "All-American". Kelly is just a wuss that could be really good but refuses to grow up. I've given up on him being consistent/showing leadership.

Samuels & Gruds have come the closest this year. I'm wishing Samuels would just man up and start, if for no other reason than to say "I'm taking some responsibility for what happens to this team". It feels like no one else has been able/willing to step up because up to this point it was "Pullen/Kelly's role".

What I'd love tonight is to see us get up on UMKC and then actually put them away for the first time this year. Maybe this is all a little overboard, but I'm ANGRIED UP about this right now.  :curse: :curse: :curse:  :chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:

My takeaway from this blog entry is that Nick Russell seems to be developing into a leader, makes it less likely that he is Brandersoned.

Has to be, you would also think at least one of our 6 shooting guards will be gone.

they only need one.  i don't see how it isn't myles.

maybe samuels could also leave, but i don't think that would be the staff's preference.

Myles has to see the writing on the wall.  No Pullen and D-Pete plays in the first half.  Myles gets in during the last 3 minutes.

Anyone ever think that terminal immaturity might be the reason Kelly transferred from UConn in the first place?
