I'm not going to go waggle my dong at the Mizzou fans over this... He did pick them over us (though it was a lot closer decision than any of them will likely admit or realize) in the first place and he wouldn't be coming if it weren't for the transcript mess.

And we still have to actually get him cleared of the potential 10.1 roadblocks (thanks, Frank Martin) even if/when he does post a semester of passing grades.

How can he enroll at N tex if he hasn't yet been ruled academically eligible? 

I think North Texas might be a juco or something.

the big 12, like all high-major confs, doesn't allow member schools to award scholarships to nonqualifiers.  many smaller conferences do allow it.  he could have enrolled at mu too, and gained eligibility after a year in the same way, they just wouldn't have been able to award him a scholarship.

Won't happen... There's actually people on our forum pissed off that the "big news" turned out not to be about football. Some dumbass was expecting to read it was a verbal from an offensive tackle, then started complaining about our beat writer when it was only a projected NBA lottery pick.

Anyone on our forum that could tell you who Frank Martin is wouldn't be upset with him, even if they do believe in the Missouri Conspiracy Theory. Mitchell is a North Texas student only because of the clearinghouse problems, and last year's recruitment 1st runner up trophy is all we'd have if he'd been cleared for Mizzou.

6th longest current home winning streak in NCAA basketball, 10th longest current 20+ win season streak among non BCS programs (behind only Memphis, Gonzaga, Butler, San Diego State, Xavier, BYU, Nevada, Utah State, and Akron), zero bowl bids in 6 years, and people still think we're destined to be a football school.

Depressing.
