...is if he loses donor $$$. To a large extent, this is why he was a viable option when Prince lost (for whatever the set of reasons were) major donor $$$. Currie's hand is strengthened when/if that $$$ quits flowing in. If it doesn't, I find it hard to believe that Bill will be out on anything but his terms.
Anyone with some inside info know if athletic department donations are in any danger of lessening, at least big time football donors?

No real inside info, but he's not going anywhere. Currie is selling tickets, and we're going to a bowl game. If KSU wins the Pinstripe and finishes 8-5, he's locked in. That's eight months of solid positive press that Currie will use to get rolling on stadium expansion.
If they lose the bowl, well, there may be some grumblings. But nothing major enough for Currie to make a move.
I'd like to think that Currie will, at the very least, have an earnest talk with Bill about changes on defense and somehow finding someone who can recruit. I think it is a pretty crucial time for Currie in relation to Snyds and the football program. He needs to at least assert some oversight, or Snyder will run right over him.
Ekeler would have been nice...
I'm sure they'll have a conversation. At least I hope they do. And you're right that it's a very crucial time for the football program. Another couple of eight win seasons (through an act of God) and Currie may be able to get whatever he wants in terms of donations for stadium expansion.
But Currie
seems like a savvy guy who understands his landscape. He knows that if he ruffles Bill, the shirt tuck army will start closing the checkbooks. So, I'm sure he's going to handle the situation very carefully.
It's comforting to know that Snyder is kind of waving in the wind when it comes to support from the administration. He can't go running back to Epps, Krause, Wefald, etc. if someone takes a whiz in his Cheerios. So Currie may have some leverage there.
