Any fairly new car will just turned off if you are able to shove it in reverse.  And I would have just the martial arts skills I have picked up from movies/tv and roundhouse kicked him in the junk.  Then I would have pulled his still beating heart from his chest with my bare hand and showed it to him as he died.

I would imitate police sounds (you know, swat, helicopters, bullhorns, etc) like that black guy in police academy.

How much cash are we talking about here?  'cause if it's less than your annual salary, you bolt.

do none of you retards know how to downshift?  jfc, this country is a rough ridin' joke.

i had a couple of kids try to steal my laptop at knifepoint once.  we kinda tugged at the computer till it fell on the ground.  then it occurred to me to yell and they ran away.  gun would be much scarier.

The life-or-death scenario I play out most in my head is when I'm taking long drives on the highway, wondering what I would do if my brakes went out and I had to ditch the car. Do you smash it into a guard rail? Do you try to turn the wheel really fast? I really have no idea, especially if you are going downhill or around a corner. What I think I'd do is unbuckle my seatbelt, roll down the window, and then jump out. Would I survive that?

forgot that i have a story to go w. this.

had a truck go past me on a longish downslope, fast, blaring his horn.  he passed me, got to the bottom of the hill where the road turned to go over a bridge (small canyon, not water), didn't make the turn at all, went through the railing and off into the canyon.  brake lights never went on.  the truck made a big crashy noise and the back part of the truck pretty much collapsed (the box part).  it was empty.  he was maybe 100 m in front of me when he went off the road.

i thought at the time i'd never forget the look in the guy's face when he passed me, but i was wrong.  forgot it really quick.

Or park, Will tear the hell out of your transmission though but better alive I guess.  If this is really a fear of yours you should get a manual transmission vehicle then you can just down shift to slow yourself down.

automatics still have lower gears.  I challenge anyone to tell me a car that doesn't have a lower gear that will slow you down to the 20's by downshifting where you can use your emergency break.

Seriously had no idea so many of you don't know crap about cars.

in all honesty, i would have done the same thing, puffizle.  you don't have to be fast, you just have to be faster than the slowest guy.

Dude came in with pistol pointing (sideways obviously) and yelled "merry christmas, bitches!".(<----)   2 of my employees were up front and myself and a few others were in the back of the store.  We all ran.  The 2 guys up front just opened their drawers and handed over the cash.  (Do not manage 7/11........altho prob same robber since I am in kcmo and I know he hit a wendy's as well)

On a side note......when running I was calling 911 where I was on hold for 2 minutes.  "Please hold for the next available operator"   :surprised:  As I am staring at the gunman walking through our parking lot I am ON HOLD with 911.  Unbelievable.

The cops were even slower.  Showing up 12 minutes later to a freaking armed robbery call.

Did you at least get the guy's license plate number?

Nope.  He had a truck waiting for him across the street and it was already getting dark outside.  Was able to describe him as an african american (black guy) dressed in all black with a ski mask in a black small truck.  Ford Ranger?

Don't know whether to ,, or :opcat: that.

UPDATE!!!  So the gunman, after TERRORIZING myself and my employees, walked across the street to where his friend picked him up at a bowling alley.........which got me thinking............maybe the bowling alley has surveillance on their parking lot??  So I call over there this morning and sure enough, they do.  I call kcmo pd to tell them............ thinking they have already thought of this by now.  NOPE.  To make a long story short, the police obtained the footage from the bowling alley and got the license plate number so now they just have to track the rough rider down and hope it's not a stolen truck.    :emawkid:

Oh, and he stole approx 350 dollars.  Definitely worth getting raped in federal prison for.......

Oh, and did I mention the kcmo pd is the biggest joke of a police dept I have ever seen in my life??  Did I seriously have to solve the rough ridin' case for them??  (which totally redeems my pussyness btw....)

yeah, they're not going to catch him.  if you want him caught, plan on running the plates yourself.

Yep.  Puf, is your employer desiring justice?  Have them call the goEMAW PI* team.  In not time, we'll have the $350 back in the register and the perp will have been slapped in the face, not on the wrist, with God's law.

My wife and I had an argument about that this morning.  I thought couldn't she find anything heavier/sharp to hit him with?  Get a folding chair and hit him in the hand should knock the gun loose.

My wife doesn't think women are strong enough to swing a folding chair.  She may be right but why would you use a purse?  At least put a brick in it or something.

What an idiot.  Tell him his fly is open, then when he looks down, punch him in the face (knocking him out obviously).  Then tie him up with an extension cord and wait for the cops.

Not all cases are meant to be solved.  Like, who shot JFK?  And where did the ku ticket money go?
