nice win
« on: December 11, 2010, 05:28:04 PM »
Tough road win in small gym over good team. They had a 2 point loss to Butler as one of their two losses.

I certainly will take it.  On the other hand we could have had a day like Pittsburg or Michigan State.  :emawkid:

Would not say it was a nice win.

Pros =  1.  Defense was good for first 32 minutes.  Held them to 11-45 FG (9-19 the final 8)
2.  Tay had a great game.  He and JO the only ones that had good games IMO

Cons =  1.  Absoulutly ridiculous getting outrebounded 23-12 on the off boards.
2.  Long drought on offense.  From 9 minute mark in 1st half, we only had 14 pts in the next 15 minutes

This game will end up being a nice win with regard to RPI. Loyola is far from the worst team we've played this year.

Not sure why everyone is acting like Jake sucked today.  Dude had some serious stress going into today and he still ended with 19/9/4, right?  That's a pretty solid line.

Actually watch a game sometime.

For instance, yesterday, had Jake handled the ball like, well, a senior all American point guard instead of making lazy, ridiculous turnovers in key stretches of the game, we could have extended our lead in the second half and comfortably won by 20 instead of clinging to a 3 point advantage with a minute and a half to play.

The team still won the game, and we all got better tv out of the deal. I'm not sure why you would be too upset about that.

anything under 18 would be a really solid rate.

Pullen was at 19 for the game.

For as much as he plays and handles the ball, TOs are expected b/c its legit to say he doesn't have elite PG handles.  I just think its frustrating when he makes the silly ones in transition, which is where we miss Clemente.  Like toward the end, we had the lead and get a steal, and then Pullen got the ball caught on his hip trying to make a pass in a 2 on 1 situation.  That was a big one.  And he had two in the last 6 minutes.  Those I don't like, but when he tries to force things once in a while overall, I expect a few.

yeah, that was really bad.  it does seem like a lot of his turnovers are memorable.

good news, though.  we're back up to 24 on kenpom after the sunday games, and kenneth should update the player stats soon.   :woot:
