James Naismith's original rules of basketball sold at an auction for $4.3 million to a couple who plans to return them to Kansas University.

A school that has had to cutback or eliminate entirely academic program after academic program, forced salary freezes on its rank and file and left positions unfilled . . .has an alumnus spend $4.3 million dollars on a book about basketball, to be displayed in the HOF of an athletic department that fleeces its students to the tune of nearly $3 million dollars a year in mandatory fees even if they don't attend one sporting event.

The Booth family — same one after which KU's Booth Family Hall of Athletics is named — bought the rules and plans to bring them back to the school, which inches KU ever closer to convincing people it actually did invent the game.
