He's kinda Chris Griffin'ish. Circa '97

Griff was a hero.  This Canadian guy has a long way to go.  I'm not even sure he's real.

I can't wait to bump the cac out of this thread late February. I don't know what you followers have against the maple leaf, but the dude can play. The fact that Doc got used by Warshington St's guard, Duke's guards and picked up some quick fouls against Alcorn, proves my point that Doc is too slow to keep up. Doc is going to get eaten alive by Big 12 guards if he's going to be asked to run the team. Pullen played himself out of the point already. What's Frank supposed to do? What we saw against Alcorn was a tryout for Juevol. And to be Frank, he passed the test.

I like what you did there.

Juevol Myles is the best PG we have
« Reply #53 on: January 04, 2011, 02:52:12 PM »
I have attended our last 2 games and watched Myles play and I think he is our best Point Guard. Even though he has not played a lot take a look at his production when he is on the court. I think the coaching staff knows it also, no matter who is on the court with him he plays PG; including when he is on with Will, Pull and Irving.
He is not as fast as Dennis was but he is damn fast and the fastest with the ball that we have, he shoots the 3 well and takes his man to the hole and finishes with contact. He shoots it well from the line; and God knows we need that. When big 12 play starts we will see a lot of real good, quick, aggressive guards and I think that Frank will play him more. With this teams run and gun style we could use him, we are not a half court walk up the ball team. Don’t be surprised if he becomes a starter by February.
I like this kid Myles a lot. He is also the most talkative guy weather he is on the bench or the floor. All Myles needs is more TP to continue to build his confidence

Pullen is our best player but Pullen is not a PG, when he was playing PG spot it was frustrating to him, did you see Duke Game? I think Frank realizes it and that’s why he doesn’t really play PG any more.

Might have to go back and watch me some old FPOBA episodes and see for myself.  Also, nice job using the "G" variation there.  You just know that guy would.

Pullen is our best player but Pullen is not a PG, when he was playing PG spot it was frustrating to him, did you see Duke Game? I think Frank realizes it and that’s why he doesn’t really play PG any more.

This had more to do with him being outplayed by what was, before the Irving injury, the best backcourt in the country, and still could be even without him, rather than Pullen playing out of position. Sprads got time at the point in that game with Pullen playing off the ball during those stretches, and that didn't really increase his effectiveness during that game.

My take is that Pullen is still our best PG. When you take into account all the things you want a PG to bring to the table, ballhandling, good decision making, creating offense for himself and others, passing, I believe he has the best package of those skills above everyone else on our team.

The major dilemma is that he's also our best SG and the gap really isn't as close as it is at the PG spot. While he is a good penetrator and creator, his best skill and the most valuable asset he brings to the table is his ability to knock down spot up looks from deep in transition and those created for him in our halfcourt offense. Unfortunately, it's difficult to create those catch and shoot situations for him from deep when he's also our primary ballhandler and we don't really have anyone else on our roster who can duplicate his ability to make those shots, particularly when guarded.

So we're left searching the wilderness known as our roster for a PG who isn't necessarily a difference maker for us at that spot, but the guy who will hurt us the least.

I am encouraged by the progress Myles has shown in the last couple games and the possibility of offensive creativity he brings but he's really got to tighten up his handle and overall decision making if he's really going to be THE GUY  for us at the point.
