I once had a scheme that I was going to approach you guys with re. Kline's Mary Kline Classic.  Before our #fatty4ksu campaign I thought that we could make the Mary Kline Classic our yearly fundraiser.  We could then use that to get Kline to push coverage towards KSU and post stuff on goEMAW.

For all you recruitniks out there, Jerry Meyer recently got laid off by Rivals. This leaves Bossi as their lone national correspondent, at least temporarily.

Now to the speculation, rumor is that Rivals may be hiring Kline full-time. If you follow his twitter, Kline said earlier today he would make a major announcement on Saturday. Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but his website has been down since last weekend.

Could all be just a bunch of coincidences and BS, but that's the buzz anyway.

If you get replaced, you weren't really laid off.

Obviously sometimes things take precedent but that would have been pretty cool to try, just to see if it would work.

I have no idea what Rivals pays, but it seems like Kline could have been better off $ wise staying on his own?  I mean, everyone knows who he is and how awesome he is, even his haters.

Just seems like he had something that was doing nothing but rising, then he takes a job that has no upward mobility in comparison.   :dunno:

He's 17.  He maybe just got offered the premier college basketball recruiting job out there.  He will travel all over to events and will have to have his mom chaperone him at some because hotels won't let him book a room on his own.  He's got plenty of time to go out on his own again if he wants to.  It's a great way to cut his teeth on stuff he hasn't been able to do to date.

He's probably seen Home Alone 2: lost in New York. He can work out the hotel thing on his own

Per his summer coach, Michael will be on scholarship. Cited his relationship that had been built with Weber over the years.

Look for him to sign and be announced as eligible next week.

As for Gray, color me surprised if he can get through the NCAA Clearinghouse.

Or at least set up a fake name and act all aloof and not explain who he is or how he knows things.

My best friend works at KSU athletics and sent me an email about how the Orris recruitment went down (this is privy stuff, so please don't spread it around too much):

Quote
oscar Weber: "Man, I'm so exhausted from mowing my own lawn, I'm famished!  I could really go for some chicken nuggets...hey, my Blackberry Curve has some messages!"

Josh Gray: "Hey coach, Josh Gray wants to play for KSU.  Best fans I've ever had, they love me on Twitter!  Where's my offer???!!?"

BW: crap, our roster is full and I REALLY don't want to run someone off.  It's so mean and unruly.  I know!  I'll ignore the situation!

JG: (two weeks later)...coach??....

BW: ....

JG: eff it, I'm going to Texas Tech.

BW: Whew! Glad that's over.  Oh, hey! Another message on my Blackberry Curve!

Michael Orris: "Hey coach, I still really want to play for you.  When Illinois paid you $4,000,000 to buy out your contract because you're such a terrible coach/recruiter, that didn't deter me...or K-State's John Currie apparently.  Anyway, I've been released by IU and need a place to play next year.  I know I'm not nearly as good as Josh Gray, who's a top 150 recruit, but I'm loyal and you promised to coach me."

BW: (mouth full of frozen chicken nuggets) Well, he does make a point...Welcome to the team, Michael!

Well, so much for the theory that we weren't taking another point guard because of Angel.

All I'll say, is Josh Gray sure as f*ck better not be a qualifier.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

well, good news is that there's no way this kid can play PG in the big 12
