Wally is much more raw than the fans or evaluators anticipated.  Some of it is confidence as Frank has pointed out several times.

I think Wally will be a very good player here, hopefully as soon as this year, but more likely his JR and SR seasons.  He has too many tools not to be unless he is a complete headcase, and I don't think he is.

I think he was sick last week.  Either way I think he's coming to the realization that the NBA is not in his future and is trying to come to terms with what he's going to do.  Could still make a good living playing basketball somewhere.

maybe george hill would be a better comparo.

That's a low blow.  Wally has been unspectacular; but to compare to George... wow.

Clearly, this guy would be the best comparo of past Q@z due to McD AA status

If Wally can't beat Freddy out for that spot, it's Wally's fault (and maybe Frank's if he's doing it because Freddy is latino).

seriously?

i just think he needs to catch the ball facing the basket and make his moves from 10-12 feet out.  similar to amare stoudemire's style of game.  frank seems to think he can teach him to bang like jamar, who by the way, is the strongest player on the blocks in america.

Frank wants Freddy at the top of the post for his mythological passing/offensive ability.  Bumped Wally back down to low post/bench.

I personally like Wally, and think once he gets back into the flow will be a solid contributor (not all-conf).  I really think confidence is his biggest problem (other than a broken neck and the flu).

Wally and Freddie usually start/play together.

The minutes breakdown for the posts has been about what I thought.  More minutes for Samuels (21.4 MPG) and Kelly (20.4), then Freddie (19) and Judge (15.8).  Then JHR (12.4).  I suppose Judge could've played a bit more, but none of those guys are going to play a bunch more than 20 MPG game.

Doesn't this fact have more to do with JamSam and CKel missing games due to eye hernias, etc., rather than the actual rotation???

Kelly's only starts have been the last two games when Judge didn't play.

Right, how can you know the rotation, when none of those big guys have all been "available" on the same night?

Real question, what is the likelihood that Wally and Freddy continue to be on the floor at the same time throughout the remainder of the year???  IMO, each of those guys plays the high v. low based more on who we're playing and the defense  (zone v. man) that their particular strength at one spot or the other.

Fair questions and its hard to tell the answer right now.

I think Frank will rotate about any combination of those guys in together.  He trusts Asprilla and he's going to play nearly 20 MPG.  Kelly and Samuels will get the most b/c they clearly bring the best offense, but I think they are both at their best playing less than 25 MPG.  Judge will get at least 15, it will be up to performance to get more.  Then JHR will get the rest.

20+24+24+16 = more than 80.  so when all the decent bigs have all their various weird issues that cause martin not to play them resolved, jhr will never see the court.

True.  But those averages never add up to 80 for the season.  Probably be closer to 85 given variations in line-ups, buy in or quit games, etc.  JHR will still end up around 10 MPG I'd guess.

there was a guy on kstatefans that posted something like "don't expect to see wally for a few games, he has some personal issues he's sorting out".  it was in response to a dude saying he thought judge was being kept out for practicing poorly, so he also said that judge is a beast in practice.

they guy didn't respond to any of the posts requesting clarification.
Was he reputable?

I loved that team.  Beane, Collier, Jackson, Ski and Cunningham, me in the front row (not wearing a purple blazer) of the student section going crazy for the "Cardiac Cats" as Mitch used to call them.

Wait a minute guys... I don't play golf... for money... against people.

The McDonald's All American distinction is clearly a jinx for us.

As far as Wally's class goes, is there another McD All American that you wouldn't trade Wally for?  I haven't gone back and reviewed each, but how many of them are there that have produced materially less than Wally?

Wasn't he in the same class as Born Ready?

Ya, those guys (except for Ski) could be pretty JYC in their day
