Why. That's my question. recruiting, i don't think so. fan base being able to drive it, i don't think so. wanting to be in that godforsaken city for new years eve, i don't think so. wnating to play a team that you know will have home field advantage, i don't think so. wanting to play your bowl game on a baseball field, i don't think so. So why? I would like an explanation from the AD' office. To get this bowl game about the same day we rec'd our ahean renewal 3 months earlier than normal is not setting well with some of the faithful

I drove to NYC from Manhattan one time.  Actually drove to New Jersey and took the train to NYC.  Not that bad of a drive.

I'm not in love with NYC (been there for work), but I don't go to bowl games, and I love how much run this game is going to get on ESPN.  Also, I like the opponent.

As far as 'low-tier' bowls go, it's hard to top this.  This is one of the better ones out there.

And for all of the idiots that are complaining about hotel prices, yeah, Manhattan is expensive.  That's why you stay in Jersey and take a freaking train.  Fly to Newark, stay in New Brunswick or Piscataway (I can recommend a very nice Marriott or Hilton), and you can take the train from New Brunswick to NYC.  People did it all of the time when I was out there.  I think it was like twenty bucks.

As far as 'low-tier' bowls go, it's hard to top this.  This is one of the better ones out there.
