i was hoping this team would be special but it's not.  maybe if frank sits me or something i'll buy in.

you didn't consider last year's team as special did you?

it was special because it was unexpected.  my expectation this year was to win the big 12.  i don't see us doing that.
franks teams get better over time.  they've been this way since he started.  momentum will be built and we will begin to see the glimpses of crap get less and less and the good spots get longer and longer.  december has traditionally been frank's month.

guess what baby!?  it's DECEMBER 1ST!!  WOOOOOOHHOOOOO!!

i don't think that every year, regardless of your talent level or experience, patterns should remain.  the starting point has to be different.

Remember when we lost to OSU in the OOD, and then when we had to play them in KC everyone was like "oh crap" and then we beat them by like 50?

Yeah.

As _FAN has pointed out numerous times, we're further along now than we were this time a year ago.

Clams, to put it simply: I expected more.  I expected Wally to be better, he’s not (go compare him to Thomas Robinson – it’s really not even a comparison).  I expected Curtis (and Jamar to a certain extent) to…well…play and they hadn’t for a number of games.  I thought our defense would be better than it is – I thought it would be dominating from the start, not “similar” to the start of last year.  I thought Freddy would be more aggressive, he’s not (I mean, jfc, he pumped faked – against emporia state - on a runout and then laid the ball in).

And I expected all this because I thought we had enough talent and experience returning that there wouldn’t be these hurdles to overcome….essentially our starting point would be different.  Maybe I expected too much.

So we're better now than our Elite 8 team was a year ago at this time, and you expected significantly more?

you're upset at some pretty odd things. i mean, the pump fake is asprilla's "go to". you don't stop doing what you do well just because you're playing a crappy team.

*tap* *tap*  Is this thing on??

You expected 7-0 and #1 in the Country instead of 6-1/#6?

We destroyed #24 VaTech by 16pts.  You expected more?

We raped #12 Gonzaga by 17.  You expected more?

We lost to #1 Duke.  You expected more?

Maybe it's because everyone is so excited about our bowl-eligble football team, that they don't have time for secondary sports.  :)

You're Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

really good teams (which is what I expected us to be) should have done everything you said against ranked teams at home (we can split hairs about the zag nuetrality), not get embarassed by duke, and destroy everyone else (with an occassional struggle - like we've had in nearly every game against teams we shouldn't struggle with).

it's not that we're a failure or anything or that we aren't good...I just thought (maybe hoped?) that we'd be really good.  which might be a good thing, I guess.  we're "good" without really playing up to our abilities at all, imo.

I'm not sure what's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  I have high expectations - those expectations are, imo, in line with the returning talent and experience.  we dont' look like the team I expected, yet.  We're close, but not there.

it's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) because we're #5, 6-1, only loss to the best team in the country(by far), and further along than we were at this point last year.  You can't go from no expectations to expecting to be the uncontested greatest team in the country in one year without being considered Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)...
