Cigar humidity thread

I have acquired multiple Romeo y Julietas, Romeo No. 2 from Habana Cuba and plan enjoying over the holiday seasons.  I cannot locate my little humidor I used to use.  They are currently in the aluminum tubes they come in, in a ziploc.  How do I maintain these spliffs until it's time to light them up and blow the smoke in poor people's faces?

I used to work with a guy that would put them in a zip lock, then put that inside another zip lock with a few damp paper towels, seal the whole thing up and put it in the crisper drawer of his fridge.  I had some of his cigs that got this treatment, and they were good.

Currently in a ziploc with a moist paper towel, in lower desk drawer.

Not sure you need 2 ziplocks, seems like the inner one would seal out the moisture.  But, yeah that's a good way to keep them fresh for a short period of time.  Also, they sell little pieces of wood (look kinda like big reeds from like an oboe or something) that you can soak for a while and then put that in with you stogies.

Best case scenario is to keep the cigars at 70/70 (70 degrees Fahrenheit at 70% humidity).  I wouldn't recommend putting them in a fridge, and especially a freezer.  

Honestly, go buy another humidor.  You can get some pretty decent ones around $50-$75.  Only takes a week or so to charge.

When you've smoked enough, you can tell the difference between a cigar that is too dry or too moist.  S

Naw, you can save a cigar.

I get pissed at myself if I smoke one that is too dry.  Burns hot and too fast.  One that is too moist burns slow (obviously), but also doesn't allow you to get that full flavor.  Tends to burn inside-out as well which is annoying.

Just remember, there are some humidity sticks that are the same size of a cig, that are made to be laid in the small humidors with the cigs.  Could prolly pick one of these up at a smoke shop.

Also not sure if you are a drinker, but nothing is better than a good cigar with a glass of wine, scotch on ice, or a good micro brew.  Explore the different flavors.  Taste how the earthly flavor of the cigar and the buttery-smoothness of a Malbec mix.  rough ridin' amazing.

use an empty tupperware box and take a sponge and submerge in water then squeeze until it's still wet but not dripping. This will help for 7-9 days, try and get a proper cedar humidor or these puppies are doomed

YOU might not, but I occasionally do when I'm sober (I enjoy the taste more this way) and increasingly do it when I get drunk... dumb-ass. Go drink another cosmo and puff your cigar.
