Can Deb Patterson break the $2 million dollar in the red barrier for the Women's basketball program??   She was close in FY 2010 at just a shade over (1.9 million).

Her fair share of the non-capitalized basketball practice facility promotional costs should put her over the top this year.   Just wait until they get that sucker built and start amortizing the cost…when you toss in her allocated amount that, the deficit will make you vomit.

The women's hoops team travels overseas more than President Obama. Then they schedule trips to play road games at Charleston, and a holiday tournament in New Hampshire.

I was just thinking how nice it would be to have a hockey team.   

Michigan played Michigan State in Michigan Stadium and 113,000 people showed up for the game.   The largest crowd to watch a hockey game ever.

But alas, schools are forced to spend millions on sports that don't make any money.

So I am reading the article in the Mercury about the change in financial fortunes for the athletic department and I notice in the listing of a series of small facilities projects that were done that the golf team got yet another little project done for them.   An artififical putting green.   So lets review, over the last 10 years the golf team has had:  A golf course built for them, an all weather hitting facility built for them, the new clubhouse at Colbert Hills contains all new dressing rooms for the men's and women's team, and now they get an artificial surface putting green as well.   

Sure would be nice if this sport that nobody really cares about, that's had millions of dollars of new stuff built for them . . . would actually win something for a change.
