The problem for some schools, and I believe KSU falls in this camp, is that at this stage in the game, there is a very strong prettiest-girl-at-closing-time effect in recruiting.  More prestigious schools suddenly become desperate to fill roster gaps and thus grasp furiously at the scraps left on the table.  If oscar manages to pull this off, it will be a noteworthy accomplishment.
I agree, I think that's why this situation makes State fans nervous. However, this may bode well for State too. If they're willing to work with kids with complicated pasts some more prestigious schools may get left out of the mix (VT btw is not a slouch institution), especially in crunch time if the coach has to spend time working over the AD/admin.

Yes. And I heard their practice facility still smells like Seth Greenberg.

whatever the smell is I don't think it can be washed off in less than four years. Happy decision making Malek Harris

It'd be interesting to know what position oscar/Seth are recruiting Malek to play. Va Tech is going to have 5 guys who are in the 6'4"-6'5" range next year, and two of those guys played a lot of minutes last year. So, if he wants to play on the wing, then K-State is probably his best bet, especially if Westicles moves to the four like a lot of folks think he will.

I don't want him to move positions either, but it seems like he probably will.

I don't necessarily think Wesley is set to move to the 4 next season since there will be so many options for size next year. The front court is going to be dynamic.

That said, I think Nino and Brandon are locks to play the 4 and Stephen is the only lock to play the 5. DJamer and Thomas will be able to play either and where they end up will be determined by how competent Brandon and Stephen are as players (and to an extent how well Nino turns it on. I think he will).

Given the fact that Wesley is a complete stud (I'm more excited to see his game than any other player next year) I think oscar will keep him at the 3 because he needs to be on the floor for 30 minutes (I think he will then move to the 4 only after Nino leaves). If Harris comes in next season I would see him playing behind Wesley at the 3 and them splitting minutes. Watching the little tape there is on Harris his game looks very similar to Westicles in the lack of perimeter shooting but who knows. The reason I liked Marvin Clark was his ability to shoot the ball, but if oscar & co liked Harris better it must be for good reason.

the staff may like Harris, but not sure what it has to do with Marvin committing to MSU

Yeah, my comment doesn't have anything to do with Clark having chosen MSU. I was alluding to a post someone made saying the staff has had a preference for Harris over Clark over this last year. I'm glad Clark got to attend where he wanted to and hope Harris wants to do the same for state. If he doesn't accept however I might prefer the staff holds onto the scholarship for next season. I think we'll look pretty good next season so we might be in a better position to pick up unique talent.

So you are saying we need to shower him with the finest women KState has to offer?  Someone get on this

As of now, I don't think Westicles plays anything but the 3. There is no guarantee Thomas and Nigel get 40 min at PG. I personally think right now they get 30 combined and Foster/Edwards/Westicles get 90 min.  My views can change as Nov gets here here and who we get.

If we can steal minutes with Westicles bringing the ball up to get more size and scoring on the floor, I say do it.
