beltran isn't worth 3/48. that would be a poor use of the money. and if they trade butler to facilitate it... ridiculous.
Looks like Vargas + Beltran and they broke the piggy bank on the Santana money.
If the Royals leave Infante sitting out there in favor of that 3rd year to lock up Beltran that would be unfortunate. However, Infante might not want to play for a loser, whereas Beltran is clearly a gun for hire, despite the coming narrative that we swept the hometown kid off his feet and beat out the Bronx Bombers which will be incessantly repeated if this happens.
