We are lucky to be up right now. I've seen little leaguers with a better curveball than Duffy had tonight. Good news is he did show his ability to strike people out.

Billy Butler's inate ability to destroy a rally by fisting a chopper to the left side of the infield is a very frustrating thing about the royals

Pretty amazing that Hosmer and Moose's hot hitting have pretty much directly coincided with Butler and Gordon sucking balls and taint.

Alex Gordon's refusal to stop swinging at balls, also frstrating

His curve showed flashes. A couple if them would've buckled most any hitter in the league. Others where just plain terrible. It really was a decent start for his first back.

10-2 in the last 4 series!!!!!

Schedule starts to get much tougher now.

Boston, Detroit for 8 games with crappy Miami thrown in for three.

To even pretend we are in the race we need to split with Boston and Detroit and win the series with Miami.

I am thinking we go 6-5 in this stretch. Hopefully Perez comes back healthy soon.

How we handle Duffy vs. Davis will be interesting to see.

Perez will be fine upon return. Agree on the Duffy vs. Davis issue. If we're going to stay in contention, we need to hammer the Tigers in the 11 games we have left with them. Splits won't get it.

I agree, j-dub. To me, Duffy is the choice. I said the Duffy vs. Davis decision would be interesting because Dayton doesn't always make choices based on logic.

I'm hoping they piggyback them. It's obvious Duffy's not going to have too many complete games so have Davis in the pen ready to go when he only goes 3 or 4 innings

Trouble with this is that when Davis comes back from leave, someone has to go. The Royals say that Duffy is likely to back to Omaha, which means they can't recall him for 10 days. My thought? Put Davis back on the active 25-man roster, keep Duffy, and send out (or releae) Mendoza.

Are you already conceding the 5th game vs Detroit?

duffy with davis piggybacking/bullpenning instead of mendoza is a great idea.
