We are 1st in Runs allowed in AL and 4th in all of the majors.   Still a lot of season left but that's night and day from last year.

Strange thing is I heard Yost and the radio guys talking about he's an incredible clubhouse dude. Either Yost or Brett called him the best leader (pitcher wise) they've ever been around. Hopefully we can back up the truck and extend his deal.

Yeah, they talked all spring and offseason about that's the reason theyve been targeting him in the past over other similar quality guys.  I'm sure he's a class act but he feels it on the inside. 

I think it was 2 or 3 starts ago they zoomed in on him in the dugout in the middle of the game with his head hanging and Yost was doing some weird thing were he was pulling Shields waist all close to his with one arm and patting him on the head with the other.

Curious thing for a big league manager to do. Royals and MLB should look into this.

Don't get me wrong, if I was Shields, I'd bring a couple handguns to work with me one day and shoot up the clubhouse.
