why do we always give up runs in the first?

Because come-from-behind wins are fun!

They are fun, but a few wire-to-wire wins would be nice from time to time.

So if we somehow win 2 of 3 when Shields, Santana, and Guthrie start (which would be an incredible amount) how many do we need to win when the 4 or 5 scrubs start?

25%?

33%?

:dunno:

escobar really has turned into just a great professional hitter. like if you made me a royal today, i'd prob want to be him. shortstop, does a lot of things with the bat, great range, good arm, middle infield, can yank and go yard or put it on the ground and go oppy. plus he always just looks really surprised all the time and just like such a good guy. love him.

Whatever it takes to get to 90 wins. I bet 90 gets a wildcard spot. This is usually the type of info i ask KSU_FAN to figure out for me, he's usually good with numbers.

really pretty incredible and he just looks and seems so nice and stuff. i'd try to sign him for whatever right now. lock him up. looks like he will turn 30 when his contract is up in 2017 when the team exercises it's options.

I was being lazy.

66%/25% would be around 81 wins. 33% would be around 87. It would take winning nearly 40% with the 4/5 pitchers to get 90 wins. And this assumes no injuries and 2/3 from the top 3.

87 wins is perfectly reasonable. I would expect more than 33% from 4/5 and less than 66% from 1-3. The way the rotation + bullpen has been should cover a multitude of bad plate discipline and poor managerial decisions.
