Royals validators out in full force.  Wal-Mart CEO as an owner and one of the lowest payrolls in baseball.  We can't compete with the big boys!  Meanwhile Mike Trout (almost exactly 1 year older) and Bryce Harper (younger) are tearing up the majors.

But carry on Royals apologists....They're only 7 games back!  Still hanging tough!

who the eff is apologizing? i'm a huge royals fan and hate them at the same time. i won't defend anything they do until they start winning. but to make a judgment on starling at this point in time is stupid.

It has been a year and Bubba Starling has still not played his first inning of professional baseball.

Meanwhile Bryce Harper and Mike Trout are in the majors.

Sad really...

Hence, Starling should be in the majors?

For the record, I rough ridin' hate David Glass.  He's a POS that's in it for the $$$, not the wins.  Basically, the opposite of Ewing Kauffman.  That said, I think your anger should be directed at our unwillingness to pay for big free agents, namely pitching.  By all accounts, Moore has done a pretty damn respectable job at turning around our farm and scouting.

Problem is that even the most productive farm will rarely produce a player for every hole in the roster.  Any respectable franchise needs to augment farm products with free agents and trades.  We're unwilling to spend the money to do so.  For that, I share in your anger.

pretty much this.

as far as bubba is concerned. the royals had a pre-draft deal worked out with dylan bundy, but the orioles took him at 4 and kc was left with bubba. everyone knew he was raw and would take time to make it to the bigs. i'm frustrated with how slowly they are bringing him along, but he is the least of their problems. my hope is that glass sells the team to someone who actually cares, who will actually spend some money on free agents, who is more in touch with the city and fanbase...

Maybe, just maybe he makes the bigs by 24.  Exactly what you want from your top 5 position player.

Like the group that owns Sporting? The Cerner ownership or whatever? I don't know much about it but I've heard those guys talked about it.

These are the guys I'd like to see.  And, frankly, the only guys in KC with deep enough pockets and strong enough credibility to purchase an MLB club.

Wasn't it rumored at one point that AEG was gonna bring an NHL or an NBA team?  I remember hearing a few years back that Cuban was interested, so I did a quick google search and the source attached to it was fescoe .

LOL if the announcement ends up being about Bubba Starling finally starting his minor league career.

It seems weird to make such a big deal out of it. I don't think it's what they normally do when signing their first rounder, but I can't think of what else it could be.
