While I was making the Chiefs gif, I couldn't leave out the Royals.  I'm hoping we'll need it in the near future.

Rumblings that Perez has a tear in his meniscus.  If he doesn't need surgery that's 6 weeks recovery minimum.  If he does? He's sidelined for the year.

Yeah.  They called him up in August.  He finished the year hitting like .331 but he's one of the best defensive catcher prospects in a long time.  Threw a guy out at second who was just walking back to the bag after taking a leadoff in his first game.  His arm is pretty incredible. Also, he's massive.  Great at blocking the plate.

Left Lateral Meniscus Tear.  No timetable for return. I'm not a doctor, but that sounds like a bad thing for a catcher to have.

Splinterd the back of my kneecap and tore my left meniscus in HS.  Had surgery(scope) shaved back of cap and cut out meniscus part. Practiced bb about 10days later, played in bb game about 2 wks later.

Actually my doc told me to expect that timeline even before surgery.  Said it was common.  Said that many even beat my recovery timeline and play 1wk later.  This catcher d00d must have a much worse tear sitch.
