I'm a big Kila guy.   Dude hasn't produced and Hosmer had.  That's baseball.  And yes, the Royals can contend this year.  Cleveland owns them but Cleveland isn't all that good. Hosmer is the future and dude deserves a shot.  Kila was the future like 4 yrs ago.
you are an idiot... as are all "kila guys". the dude has been called up at the end of the year for the last 5 years and had a lifetime big league average of like .160.

for the record, i'm not sure this is the best move. But whatevs...it's entertaining.

Also, both Eric Hosmer and Kila are trending. wow.

You hate Hosmer, just come out and say it.

nahh, i'm more of a Kila apologist. imo, I don't think the Royals can contend this year, and we haven't given Kila enough PA's. I hope they prove me wrong though.

I'm really excited about Hosmer though..

Pitchers have figured out you just don't throw Kila fastballs.  He swings away at breaking balls out of the zone.  He was really never a huge batting average guy in the minors.  Walked a lot and hit home runs was his game, which is a rare combo, but in the minors you can get away with doing things against pitchers that pitchers don't do at the major league level in terms of deception, pitch mixing, and control.

Hosmer pretty much forced their hand. A .439 hitter with some pop just can't be kept down on the farm.  I think they wouldn't have minded bringing him north out of spring training, but he wasn't on the 40-man and they didn't want him to be anything more than a super 2.

As it stands, the offense is improved.  The defense is improved. And the fans are getting excited.  I'm sure its no coincidence that they call him up today so they can play him tomorrow night on Buck Night/Fireworks Friday when you can expect to get a larger than average crowd.  There will be a huge walkup.  I know I'm considering heading over.

Yeah, winning 5 of 6 and having it be by far the best weather on a Friday night this year just wasn't enough for the Royals. Wish I was going to be there, sounds like tomorrow could be really fun. Still think Hosmer goes 0-4 though.

It seems pretty Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to say that a team that is currently contending won't be able to contend this year. It's not likely, but what kind of fan would give up at this point?

It's the Royals we're talking about here...'nuff said.  I would like to be proven wrong but I highly doubt that is going to be the case

Even if we finish around .500 that is a huge upgrade over what we have had, or expected this year

As long as we dont lose 90+ games this year is a success if we can get a few more prospects up here. Plus it has been entertaining as hell, I am just enjoying the ride.

I will go ahead and guess you are one of the idiots who were calling for a trade of Butler, because "We have Kila." Perhaps you can enlighten me, oh wise one. Please tell me why you love Kila. I am dying to know.

No, trading Billy would be Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). Just because I think Kila didn't get a fair shot, doesn't mean i'm an idiot.

I was responding to the glorious stats you pulled out of your ass.

So, is our pennant here yet? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it would arrive soon.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Those stats are not far off.. He has had his chances. He just doesn't get it done in the bigs. Never has, never will. He hurt the team this year with his pathetic performance through the first fifth of this season. It got to the point where Yost, who is a big Kila supporter, could no longer have him in the lineup as he was taking AB's away from more productive hitters like Betemeit. I apologize for calling you an idiot. The Ka'aihue topic is one that really gets me riled up. What are your thoughts on Aviles?

Kila got a fair shot.  They obviously knew his problems which is why he has taken so long to be brought up for an extended stay.  And that's baseball, you have to make the most out of what you get.   I'm excited to see what Hosmer can do, hopefully he's more of a Billy than an Alex (in regards to how they started off).

meh. Not hard to be better than Kila. He is a defensive liability. He always has those breakout games when he is struggling, though.

Kila wasn't a Moore guy, so he was screwed from the start. I'm guessing we won't see him again.

Aviles is already 30, so this is about the best he's gonna get, which i'm fine with right now. Guessing him, Getz, and Betemit will continue to trade off until the prospects get here.

As far as Getz/Betencourt go-  I would assume that Moose would be the next call up, probably before the break.

moose is hitting like dogshit.  he's regresed.  last I checked he was batting .240 for Omaha.

Got to go out there tonight.  Would have been nice to have seen Hos take the bat off his shoulders, but I'll take 2 walks and a SB.

Even from the upper deck you can tell Collins and Hos are considerably different size.

His third appearance was just pure youth. Watched a fastball go right by him. Was dumbstruck by the curve and figured he was about to get a wasted pitch and watch another fastball go right across the plate.
