Wat too early to depress yourselves over the royals.  Don't worry.  The time will come.

They last were in the playoffs when I was in the third grade.  Will be again when my kid is in the third grade.  That kid's still tucked away in my scrote at this point.

Lucky you, they havent made the playoffs in my lifetime.......I'm almost a quarter of a century old   :frown:

HA! I gotta see the WS... ok, so I was 2, but at least I have that... Chiefs haven't even been to the Super Bowl since my dad was was in grade school. Add in K-State's big goose egg in national championships and my HS's 2 state titles (both golf which I've never layed) and I feel pretty depresed about my sports teams.

Good deal for us. Legit GG shortstop, starting CF and two upside righties. And no more Yuni .300 OBP.

Smell ya later Gil Meche. Classy move though. Just forfeited the $12 on his contract.

in his defense his arm has basically been destroyed over the last several seasons. i don't know how much he was going to be able to contribute anyways.
aren't you glad it wasn't you? - g.h.

Yup, pretty much destroyed his career. Right now it looks like we will have about a $30mil payroll next year.

Per Mike "gurgle" DeArmond - "Talking baseball with Cardinal fans, is like talking basketball with KU fans, is like talking football with Nebraska fans . . ."

They suck to the nth degree

Wish I could, but not going to make it this year.  Going to have to settle for some MLB 11 and watching it on TV.

Guys, I'm starting to get convinced. This is the year. No way the Royals start out good, flame out again, and the lose all their prospects to the yankees. Will. Not. Happen. This is the year. Buy those tickets up. You'll want to say you were there.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Anyone read the article in ESPN the magazine. Gave me some hope, but not for this year.

We mentioned it a little in the SI article thread. It was actually the first baseball article I'd read in years.
