Depends if we sign Duffy. I don't think it will be pure dumpster fire but probably like 10-12 games below .500 unless some thing emerges out of nowhere in the farm system.

It might be Strahm. The Royals want him to be a starter, but his recovery from TJ surgery ultimately resulted in innings caps and a move to the pen. He'll need to be stretched out, a process I suspect will start with winter work and progress to spring training, and perhaps into the regular 2017 season. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Royals trade for another 5-spot starter this winter. Medlen wants to return, but he's a big question mark.

these games where the royals get an early lead and yost thinks it'd be unsporting to run gore with the lead are the worst. for some reason, in his mind, it never goes the other way where he realizes that the sporting thing to do with a big lead is bat gore.

Ventura in his first 4 starts of the season in 14'-16' had a combined 2.70 ERA
2014, last 17 starts he had a 3.12 ERA
2015, last 14 starts it was 3.10
2016, last 14 starts it is 3.45

Late April til late June or early July he just hasn't been good or dependable.
