the royals are #2 in the AL in runs allowed per game, despite having the #7 best ERA in the AL. i mean that is all you need to know about the royals defense right there.

Cincy has the 28th ranked starting pitching and the 30th rated bullpen, over a full run higher on ERA than #29

This may claim they are #2 clutch offense but they are #17 in Runs scored and that isn't near enough to counter that atrocious pitching

I don't think it's worthless. But there are different ways to determine what clutch hitting is. Same with clutch pitching.

I meen Wade and Herrera are great for us. And they are hard to get hits off of period. But those 2 when they have a runner on base are allowing a .138 average. When those 2 have guys in scoring position, they have given up 8 hits in 53 ABs. And have twice as many Ks (24) as hits/BB allowed (12). 1 extra base hit (double) in 53 ABs. That's pretty nasty

toronto v cleveland (canada day!) has been a great display of unclutch hitting and clutch pitching so far. i've got my fingers crossed for a clutch toronto hit here in the 16th.
